Raven's POV I woke up with a muffled scream, I looked around my room to discover that the candle I took from the pantry had burned out. I was sweating profusely. I just woke up from a nightmare which looked like reality. The same dream had been plaguing my dream for long. My name is Raven. I am seventeen years old. I belong to the Attic Moon pack, I don't have parents. Yes, I was raised by the kitchen hands in my pack Alpha's house. Everybody tried their best to avoid me, they say I bring bad luck everywhere I go.

[RAVEN, HUMBER VALLEY PACK COMPOUND] Raven found herself with nothing to do. As she wasn’t a member of the Pack’s command structure, she wasn’t welcome on tonight’s run. She ran with her Pack prior to this. Alpha Jones didn’t enjoy leaving her behind, and he argued with his Beta about locking her away. Raven was alone, chained to the ground in front of the Pack house. Their idea was to prevent her from escaping and avoid wasting an enforcer’s time guarding a Pet. Ignore her feelings, focus on Alpha Jones’ departure. She needs to endure this humiliation for two to three hours. Raven had gone through worse in school.

Of course it would be a hard task considering the fact they all wear masks and if she were to be found out with her gloves, it wouldn't be possible. The superiors in the Raven band all have special gloves to differiante them. The superiors are the ones who get to know what Raven looks like and they are the most trusted and surprisingly they are just five of them. Kai, Archie, Lucius, Tanya and including Raven herself (Mia). They lead certain lookouts for any spotted offender in line with the job they are called for; fishing out the weres, vamps and zombs.

But I was working today, and for my foreseeable future, so I wasn’t concerned about looking presentable. After throwing on an oversized T-shirt, I headed downstairs knowing my father would be up and in his office even at this early hour. On the way down I stopped at the foot of the stairs, my eyes landing on our pack crest that hung above the main door. A Raven with a shield, color-blocked in red and grey squares with two swords that cross and lay behind the raven and shield. Once upon a time, these lands were filled with birds, Ravens to be exact. When my ancestors settled here and began to build their pack of wolves, they named the pack after the birds that had already made their homes in

I stared at Raven for a long time, not quite sure I’d heard her correctly. Well, that’s not quite true. I knew I’d heard her. What I didn’t know was whether or not I’d understood her. “The Parker pack was here, in our forest, last night, because of you?” I asked her, once I regained the ability to speak. Raven nodded. “Yeah. They were here because of my… situation.” Again, I could only stare at her as I processed. “Your situation?”

Though it was a private event, if they didn't come how could he show his face anywhere! Isabella Wolfborn dismissed the omegas serving them. She walked up at the middle-aged man, "Dad, Leah will not come. Now that she's married in the Royal House of Varkos, she's showing her real colors'. If it was me, I would do everything to support my Pack but you are too soft-hearted and took in that orphan!" He looked at his daughter and regretted it for the hundredth time. But Wolfborn Pack was a small pack either 3/4 of their population consisting werewolf. He didn't dare lie to the Alpha King!

Then, between one heartbeat and the next, they appeared. Seven ravens, each the size of a large dog, perched on outcroppings all around us. Their feathers weren’t black but rather the color of a night sky, dark blue-purple with pinpricks of light that might have been stars or might have been their own internal luminescence. Their eyes were the most disturbing part. Each bird had dozens of them, covering their heads and necks, each eye a different color. And every single eye was fixed on us. “Oh gods,” Ryker breathed, staggering backward.

Raven’s POV In the locker room, everyone moved fast, sticks clacked, pads snapped and no one talked out loud. We all knew what tonight was. I sat on the bench, pulling my skates tight and my hands wouldn’t stop trembling. The bite on my neck still burned under the bandage. My wolf paced inside me and claws scraped my ribs with every breath. Ethan stood in front of the team, jersey on, captain patch bright. “Listen up,” he said. “Tonight is not just the championship. Tonight is everything. We win or we lose it all. Raven. The pack. Our lives. We play like every second matters because it does.”

“I don’t understand why they are so different…” I sighed as I looked down at the maps in front of me. One was old and hand drawn on a large roll of paper, yellow with age. The other was new and laminated. Both showed the boundaries of the Ravenfield pack. They should have been identical, but they were not.
