Paid Writing Contests Novels & Stories

While he was driving, I can see him glancing at me and just kept smiling. I told him to stop "You are so beautiful, I can't help it. Do not worry much about him. I asked my friend from the writing industry if he can give me the partial list of writers that would participate in the contest. He told me that he can get it but it will take days because there were 500+ names and one of them is the one you are looking for." I gazed into the distance after hearing him say that. I looked at my phone to see if he already had nee updates but it was rather odd, it felt like I am interested in what would happen next in the story because I think it would happen to me as well.

“I’m surprised the bank didn’t list a payee.” I’ve already moved on to the next letter, out of habit more than anything else. However the second letter is as shocking as the first. It’s a notification claiming I’ve won a contest I’m certain I never entered. You won! The bold text reads, Congratulations, your vouchers for a year of free spa visits are inside. “What on earth is happening?” I mutter in astonishment. I mean, I suppose this is something that I might have randomly entered a lottery for and forgotten about, or perhaps a raggle from some corporate event, but I certainly didn’t put any effort into entering a contest like this.

Our whole operation got thrown off. But online? Whoever cries hardest always looks right. So I clapped back, posting the entry rules for those paid competitions: [These events exist so kids who'll never hit stardom can still enjoy the spotlight. Making it big is tough. Whether parents do it for confidence or for résumé padding—that's their choice, not ours to judge. As for Luca's parents—your kid never signed with us. You never paid a dime. So where's this 'scam' you're screaming about?]

At the end of the online class session, we were to submit our masterpiece which would be reviewed by some editors and they would pick a winner whose book would be published in paperback and the writer would be given recognition. My online school has been holding a writing contest every year and my book has come third or second since I joined two years ago. That year was my final year and my last chance to win the contest which was why I put all my effort into it this year. "Rhea, I've told you about using your phone on the table. This is why you are using eye contact in the first place." My mom scolded. "Just to be clear, I love my eye contact, and I'm almost done," I said with my eyes still

I quickly scanned the papers—it was actually a solid idea. We were the ones to hold the workshop while they handled the contest afterward. The winners would have their work published by Arrow Publishing, with their names on it, and even a chance to be scouted as new writers. I looked at Lathan. “Have you seen this?” I asked. He shook his head. “I’m actually waiting for you. If you like it, I’ll sign it.” Kin and Enzo cleared their throats while Sierra covered her mouth to hide her laugh.

] Another message followed immediately. [Luxury accommodation. Fully paid trip. National livestream exposure. Final winner receives a publishing contract worth $1,000,000.] Winona stared at the screen suspiciously. Before she could process it, her best friend Ava called. “Tell me you got the invite too!” Ava shouted excitedly. “This thing is blowing up online right now. They’re inviting writers, actors, gamers, influencers, all kinds of people.” “You seriously think this is real?” “I think your boyfriend just ruined your mental stability and the universe is compensating you,” Ava replied.

My shift will end soon. And I still I have to finish my final draft for the writing contest! It’s due next week. I thought. I joined the “Writer's Luck” contest to win $700. Not only that, you'll be an automatic member of an elite book club called “The Golden Phoenix” wherein you will meet many personalities and big people. Also, this club could aid you find a sponsor or a publisher to publish your writing. And I think this is a tremendous opportunity to pay off the debts of my aunt. I hope luck will be in my favour.
