Persuade her to submit to him before the moon. His close friend Magus took a seat next to him. Magus was a rare addition to their pack. A creature half mage-half wolf he was immensely rare. There was purportedly only one other such creature in existence. And he was allegedly the Commander of King Detry’s Mages Guild. “What are you so pensive about?” Magus queried. “Same thing you are, I’ve no doubt.” “I’m far less pensive than I should be.” Magus was trying to hide a self-satisfied smirk and failing.

The mage's eyes widened in terror as he screamed, "W-Who are you!" His fear had reached a new level as he finally got a good look at the perpetrator. But to his dismay, the perpetrator's face was blurry, and he couldn't make out any distinct features. The mage had never heard of such a powerful magic in his life! "Why are you freaking out?" I snorted, a hint of amusement in my voice. Perhaps my dark robe had led him to believe that I was part of an evil organization bent on destroying the world.

It even felt like she never got shot in the first place. All this time, Mariana was with a mage, and she wasn't even aware. She knew Ignis was strong, too since healing spells are hard to pull off based on what she'd read from her books. He must be a water mage, too — she knew no such earth or wind healing spell existed, but a water spell that could heal wounds; she hadn't heard of that. Mariana knew only that water mages could heal only poison and sickness. This only meant that Ignis was a genius, since not just anyone could create an original spell. This rocked Mariana to the core.

Jessie woke up Monday morning and for some reason, she felt off and her magic wasn't afraid to show it. It started with how she almost tripped because of a pillow that appeared out of nowhere on her way to the bathroom, then her magic setting the water too high and almost burning her skin off, then nicking herself with a knife with her magic bending the knife in her anger and finally, checking her bag before realizing her homework was on her reading table in homeroom. Banging her head on the desk, she attracted the stares of everyone and worried looks from her friends.

"I can't keep my shield up forever!" That was true. I'm a licensed Mage (Rank A-2) but I was a civilian. If my opponent was another Mage, then perhaps I wouldn't be feeling so desperate. But Anomalies have a high resistance to magic, and to take one out required you to use combat spells of Rank B and above. And as a civilian, I don't know any combat spells strong enough to kill one, and neither do I have the magic power needed to cast it. The best I could do was keep myself alive until help could get here, which is why I was pouring as much magic into my barrier as I could.

The man hardly looked at me, so I’d stopped worrying he was taking me to breed me. He wants a servant girl. I guessed. I won’t be anyone’s servant. He can cast me out to the wild wolves first. His blue eyes flicked to me pensively. And for a moment, just a moment, I wondered if he could pick up on my thoughts. Some wolves could. But I’d never heard of a mage being able to. As if cueing in again, he gave me a longer look. Tilting his head down enough the brim of his hat shadowed his face. And for a second I was certain that his eyes flared yellow the pupil narrowing to a slit.

It was times like these that I wished my magical abilities went beyond healing and defensive spells as I fantasized about the h*ll I would unleash on this arrogant b*stard with his superiority complex. I was brought out of my fantasies when I noticed people in the village streets were stopping to stare at the spectacle of me being hauled like a bag of grain. Unable to stand one more moment of this embarrassment, I conceded.
