I slammed into the glass, my palms pressed against its cool surface as I watched them wheel him away.
In that moment, as I stared at my distorted reflection in the glass, the truth hit me like a physical blow. I was never going to see Trent again. He was gone, whisked away to a foreign country, lost to me forever.
