Bad things happen on her birthdays and they were usually the dreams she had a night before, coming to reality. They were usually slight occurrences that didn't involve death but they were still bad. The worst thing about these nightmares was that it seemed there was nothing that could stop them from happening. They were bound to happen and Juana called it her curse. But her dad and granny thought it was fun or magic. Even if it was evil. "It'll let us know what to do and what not to do" Granny said but the evil still happened anyway no matter how careful they were in trying to prevent it.

MY HEAD WAS IN pain because it felt like someone was pulling my mind tighter and tighter, and if they didn't let go soon, it was going to snap. I couldn't do anything about it either since I was still under the nightmare Master’s control, performing for these rich socialites or should I say sadistic assholes. Well, I'm not performing that is the job for the freaks that the night remaster sends me. What Doc doesn't realize is that his ability works, and where most of them are freaks, the nightmare master can't stand the sight of, since they are useless. So he sends them here to perform for these assholes.

I jolted awake, trembling violently as cold sweat clung to my skin. A nightmare. Only a nightmare… though Hazel remained strangely restless beneath my skin. Suddenly, the door pushed open and Dominic crossed the room in seconds, concern darkening his expression. He was beside me before I could steady my breathing, his hand closing around mine. "Are you hurt, Natalia?" "I heard you from the room beside yours.” I turned my gaze to him as I regained my composure. "I–I'm fine. It was just a nightmare," I said, brushing away strands of hair from my face.

Black as midnight, pulsing with a sickly green glow. “Nightmare seeds,” Ravenna explained. “Plant them near the fortress, and they’ll grow into plants that release spores. Anyone who breathes the spores will have vivid nightmares, their worst fears made manifest in their sleep. They’ll wake up exhausted, paranoid, jumping at shadows.” “That’s…” Marcus looked disturbed. “That’s psychological torture.” “That’s winning.” Ravenna scooped the seeds back into the pouch. “Wars aren’t won with honor and fair fights. They’re won by whoever’s willing to do what the other side won’t.”
