she asked, her voice soft and full of concern. “Yeah,” I said, forcing a smile. “Just a client. Nothing important.” She seemed satisfied with that answer and went back to flipping through the catalog. “I think I’ve found the right color,” she said, holding up a swatch for me to see. I leaned in, curious. “Green?” I asked, raising an eyebrow. “Why green?” Emily laughed softly, her fingers brushing over the sample. “Green is calming. It’s soothing, like the color of trees and grass. It’s natural, peaceful. I think it’ll be perfect for the baby. Don’t you think?”

We went back to chatting about the babies and Kira gushing about her plans for the nursery. "For the girl’s side of the room, I’m thinking pastel yellow and gray," she said, her eyes lighting up. "And for the boy, sage green and gray. I want them to feel cozy, not super cliché." "Cute!" I smiled. "Very gender neutral and fresh. They're gonna love it." I glanced at the clock and excused myself casually, trying not to look too eager. “There’s, uh, something I need to check upstairs real quick…”

She flips through the pages slowly, studying each design while Nessa goes through the other designs Tania has already seen. After a few minutes, Tania hands the book back to me. “I want the concepts on these five pages. All of them. You’ll need to work it up and choose and decide the preferred design for each room. I’ll leave that decision to you. I trust your judgement. However,” she grabs one of the color palette sheets. “I’m leaning on these colors: Moss green, white, a darker shade of green, and navy blue. You can add other colors. But I want to see green in my living room.” She says decisively.

Pink swirling designs that appear as a rose and a head of a wolf on the center accentuate the furniture even more, same as the couch where Pegasus is napping. The vases are smoothly gray and snaked with pink geometry designs. The carpet is even gray and soft. It made me almost cringe because it’s like it’s derived from a dozen gray wolf skin and sewed together in order to make a grand carpet for human feet to brush on.
