Punishment for women who didn’t obey. She opened the last file. Patricia Moss. The name was familiar. Where had she heard it before? Then she remembered. Patricia Moss was the woman who’d warned her at the coffee shop. The woman who’d told her about the Crosses. The woman who’d survived. Mia flipped through Patricia’s file with growing dread. The medical records looked normal. Healthy pregnancy. Successful delivery in 2019. But unlike the others, Patricia’s file had additional notes stapled to the back.

Patricia had been watching us all this time? “But she’s dead,” I whispered, voice barely holding steady. “So who’s still doing this?” Martinez flipped a page in his notebook, his eyes meeting mine. “We found one more thing in her files. Patricia had another daughter. Not Rebecca. A secret daughter she never admitted to. Her name is Diana Moore. She lives right here in the city.” He paused, the silence stretching. “And she works at Evan’s school. As his teacher’s aide.”

"I found her notebooks." Patricia was quiet for exactly two seconds. "Don't touch anything else. Don't photograph them yourself. I'm sending someone in the next thirty minutes." "Patricia." Mia's voice was steady. Final. "She planned all of it. She wrote it down." Another silence. Longer. "Stay where you are," Patricia said. And for the first time since she'd taken the case, she sounded like something other than calm. She sounded like a woman who had just drawn a very good hand.

That bullshit is not real and only exists in fantasy novels. Miss Patricia is no different from Avery when it comes to reading fantasy books. She must have read a lot of them, and it has gotten to her head so much. “What are you still doing? Open this door right away, I am going to…” I stopped in my tracks when I noticed Miss Patricia was beginning to act strangely. “Miss Patricia, are you okay?” I asked, but she kept mute and just stood still. She was still backing me, I was beginning to get scared already, this lady won't be the end of me.

Cruel, calculated, deliberate. Elara let her gaze flicker to Malick, lips twitching with amusement. “Hmm… I see she’s finally realized where her place is,” she murmured. Soft, almost a whisper, but meant for him. Patricia leaned closer, tilting her head just enough so Sierra could see the shimmer of shadow-laced ink curling from her fingers as she traced Malick’s papers, murmuring to herself. “Poor boy… distracted by little Crowhurst again,” she said lightly, voice honeyed but sharp as glass.

Stared at the photograph. "She looks like you," he said. "All of us do." He set the file down. "When do we start?" "Tomorrow." He nodded. "Then tomorrow." The First Thread The first name on the list was a woman named Patricia. She lived in a small town north of the city. Never married. No children. Worked at a library for thirty years. I drove there alone. The library was small, quiet, full of afternoon light. Patricia was at the front desk, stamping books, her gray hair pulled back.

Patricia looked puzzled, her brow furrowing as she set the book down. “Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?” she quipped, her tone light but her eyes searching mine. I closed my eyes tightly, trying to steady myself. “I don’t know,” I sighed, hugging myself tightly. I’ve been shivering with anxiety, the weight of everyone’s secrets pressing down on me. It feels like everyone is lying, everyone is hiding something. The most painful part is that they’re hiding it from me. “Of course,” Patricia sighed, her voice softening. “I’m human. I hide things too… that’s true.” She spoke frankly, her gaze steady. “But I’ll only tell you if it’s necessary.”

Patricia exclaimed, full of satisfaction when she found what she was looking for. It was a small pack of pink tablets hidden beneath her things. When Rick first offered these little devils to her, she refused. She was trying to follow what Tasha told her. But Rick was an excellent salesman. He convinced Patricia to disobey Tasha's most important rule. And it was more than heaven for Patricia. -------

I cried helplessly and hopelessly, but no one came, she continued walking towards me with those same lustful eyes. “No one will come darling, your parents left me In your care." She said laughing like a slithering snake. Patricia was our most trusted maid so she was made head maid. She has been kind to me for six years, she literally took care of me when I was just a baby since my mum was recuperating from the injuries after the operations done on her to give birth. But we never knew Patricia had a motive. She was walking under king Pilgrim and she was a pedophile.

Patricia pretended to look calm as she stared at the medical book, but her mind was numb, unable to focus on a single word. His words from earlier echoed in her ears, and a blush slowly crept up to her ears. Martin uncomfortably pursed his thin lips, trying his best to divert his attention. "Let me... I'll cook for you!" Patricia reacted strongly, slamming the medical book onto the bedside table, then jumped out of bed and left the room in a hurry.
