"What are you doing here by this time? It's barely past five am." I opened my mouth to speak, but only a shaky breath got past it. She knew who I was—all of Eastmoon knew who I was, but I couldn't tell the difference. It was the price of fame I had to pay for living this life. "Uhm, it's going to be a long day, Patricia. Ms. Williams decided to start off her day early." Patricia nodded reluctantly, sparing an uneasy smile. She held the skirt of her dress, alerting me to her attire only now. She was fully dressed and had shoes soiled in mud from the woods. I wasn't the only one suspicious. This woman was, too.

"Yes sir! At your service!" Glancing at the door, Morris whispered "I believe it is time to pay Patricia a visit" ~~~~~*~~~~~ Patricia flipped through the pages of the 'Women's Style Magazine', skimming through the pages in satisfaction. "Wow, this is so lovely, I should get this for Rachel to wear to our next event" she muttered to herself.

“it seems you have everything sorted out without me, so apparently I’m insignificant in this hospital, so why did you come to tell me, to fulfill all righteousness?” “it’s not liked that sir, well I’m sorry, like I said earlier I didn’t think it was a big deal, it won’t happen again” “I hope so” Dave flips through a book on his desk “so?” Patricia shrugged “you’ve gone far with your plans, what could I possibly say? Just do what you feel like” Patricia rolled her eye balls, “thank you Dave” then she turned back, and headed for the door Patricia opened the door to the vacant room, where she left Priscilla, she walked in, and saw Priscilla lying on the bed. Priscilla sat up, with an inquisitiv

The bustling corridors of the university were alive with chatter and laughter, but Alvin's voice seemed to cut through the noise, reaching Patricia with a sense of urgency. "Why are you so annoying? You can see I'm reading," Patricia replied, throwing him an irritated glance that could cut through steel. She could feel her patience wearing thin, her grip tightening on the paperback novel she held. The vibrant cover of the romance novel stood out against her pale hands, a stark contrast to the mundane textbooks they carried.

Krista POV Patricia Owens' living room was the room of someone who had been waiting a long time and had made peace with the waiting without letting it consume the rest of her life. Books on every surface. A small television. A kitchen visible through a doorway that smelled like coffee and something baked earlier in the morning. Family photographs on the mantelpiece, children and grandchildren in the ordinary accumulation of a life lived alongside the specific secret she had been carrying since the night she worked a NICU shift seven years ago and saw something she could not unsee.

More importantly, it was where several other mysterious medical records seemed to originate from. I found Nurse Patricia Wells in the parking lot during her break, smoking a cigarette and looking tired. Patricia was in her fifties, with graying hair and the worn expression of someone who'd seen too much tragedy in her career. "Patricia," I called out, walking over to her. She looked up, recognition flickering in her eyes. "Sarah Mitchell. I remember you from the charity board." "That's right." I smiled warmly, though it felt like poison on my lips. "I was hoping you could help me with something."

Two days of sitting across from Patricia at breakfast, passing her the silver sugar bowl, smiling politely while my insides twisted with the knowledge that she was a monster. I watched her pour tea with steady hands—hands that had signed a check for two million dollars to cover up a murder. I watched her dote on Maxwell, her voice dripping with maternal concern, wondering if she had felt anything at all when her brother and sister-in-law died in that ravine. The house felt suffocating. The air conditioning hummed, but it couldn't chase away the chill that had settled in my bones. Every shadow in the hallway looked like a threat. Every creak of the floorboards sounded like footsteps coming to

Patricia's heart began pounding. Because the woman standing outside the door was someone Patricia had thought was far away from this entire nightmare. And now, after all these secrets, she had come back. End of Chapter 133
