The little feline stretched and licked her paw, watching her owners’ parents leave. She began to purr as someone petted her head. “Don’t worry, Chip. I know they’ll get through this together,” Alexandra said, petting the kitten before looking at her sleeping grandchildren.

She smiled and caressed its head, and said, "Let me give you a name, okay? What should I call you?" After saying that, Phoebe held up the little kitten to stare at it. Its fur was mostly gray, and within its fur were two flowers of pure white fur. "Meow." The kitten was in a warm home again. It was very happy and had a mistress who liked it so much. Phoebe picked up Nala as if she picked up a good friend. She had been accompanying her around the whole afternoon, and furthermore, she didn't have any cat food nor tools to raise cats. She had to go out and buy everything for her soon.

She notices, and again raises an eyebrow.

She is really sweet.” She says, well I wouldn’t use the word sweet after she has just killed someone and maimed others. But whatever. She kisses my jaw and I look down at her. I lift her higher and move in to kiss her. She pulls away, covering her mouth with her hand.

So Carlo was right… Slamming down the thought of Carlo and his insults, I focus on the kitten. “Okay, let’s get a look at you, sweetie. Oh good, the burn isn’t as bad as it could be. You are so lucky. Ah, oops, you’re a girl.” I run my hands gently over the kitten, watching her for any reaction of pain to my touch. A sigh of relief leaves me when she doesn’t meow in pain. Studying her, she’s pure black, not a spot of color on her.

Over time, the kitten learned to trust the big dog, and told him of the days before she met him. She told him of the cold and unforgiving place, and the people who grabbed at her. The dog listened to her, but his infinite wisdom let him know what was really wrong. One day, he asked her: "So tell me little kitten, do you want to punish those who have wronged you?" The kitten enthusiastically said that she did. "Well, then. Let's make a plan. Who are we going to punish first?"

“So you got a kitten today. Tell me about it?” “Well it’s a girl. She’s really small with blue eyes. She is all white with orange, and black spots. Dee-Dee called her a calico. She’s about two months old. She is sweet, but shy. I….um…had actually called you to let you know I had to make a big purchase today to get what I needed for her. I’ll find a way to pay it back.
