POV ATLAS BURNAM Why did I take an interest in Skylar? The answer is pretty simple. I am an ancient creature, a creature of the moon. I am a werewolf and Skylar is my mate. The day of the big match was the day I turned 18 which is when werewolves are able to sense or smell their mates out. I was looking forward to it since I was going to get my perfect other half who would love me for eternity and we will have our happily ever after, the one that humans long for so much.

Drax, made from wild fungi and ethanol, was banned within the city limits but could be legally purchased and consumed in the Drock. Mother’s message was particularly relevant today, as my age now permitted me entry. Her second message was not to take unnecessary risks on the ice peaks I planned to climb, a message she knew I always ignored. The third was one I had received continually since my early childhood: “Skye, do not, under any circumstances, exercise your powers and bring attention to yourself.” I had asked why many times, only to receive the same answer. “Because I forbid it.” Or, as I grew older, “Because we have a special ability that can be dangerous and must be concealed.”

His pack was raided and almost completely wiped out when he turned twelve and since then, Skylar’s father had taken them in. Soon as he reached the doorway to the dining hall, Skylar’s eyes scanned the large room, not looking for anyone in particular. It just became a habit. “He's not here.” Skylar felt his wolf, Kylo, roll his eyes on him while growling low and highly irritated. “I wasn't looking for that deaf,” Skylar retorted. “Did I say who it was?” Kylo sniggered on him then curled up for a nap.

The wolf growled and lunged again, but this time Skylar was ready. With a swift turn, she dodged and struck from the side with the ice blade. It only grazed the beast's thick fur, but it was enough to make the creature recoil and stumble back. Skylar stood, panting, ready to strike again-but the wolf began to retreat. Its red eyes stayed locked on her for a moment longer, then with a final growl, it turned and disappeared into the depths of the forest. Skylar remained still for a moment longer, then slowly straightened once she was sure the danger had passed. Her heart still thundered, her body trembled with exhaustion-but one thing was certain.

I hardly ever changed into my wolf form, so this was the most freedom she got- using our powers. She stepped a foot hard on the ground, and the ground after them slowly rose like a wall, and they were trapped. The Photia pack members stepped back for safety, so it was just Skylar and her toys. “Who wants to play?” Her voice boomed through the wind with an echo, and the slowly brightening sky became dark.

But before I could get to her, she shifted in the blink of an eye. Skylar emerged, large and black, standing seven feet tall, her icy blue eyes met mine the second she turned to look at me. “Juicy Alpha daddy wants to milk his baby,” she purred inside my head. Classic Skylar. I halted in front of her panting. “Are you okay?” I asked, as she lowered her head and I ran my fingers through her thick black fur. “More… more…” she cooed, panting with her mouth wide open.

I punch him in the arm and, being the nice guy that he is, pretends that I actually hurt him. Daniel Jay McCowan's lean body stand about five foot ten; his tendons frequently stretching over his muscles. He was our high school's running back, probably would have gone to college on scholarship had he not injured his shoulder senior year. His dusty brown hair always tends to flop in front of his face when he moves, and his green eyes have always had a glint of mischief in them. All that, combined with Audrey's fiery personality and my willingness to go along with all their schemes, and we were always getting ourselves into trouble.

Skylar's POV 1:00 am. My parents were sound asleep in their room. Chicken was sound asleep in my room, curled up on my bed. The moon was up in the night sky, glowing brightly. And I, Skylar Anderson, was dressed up in a black T-shirt and jeans, my favourite denim jacket, and some butt-kicking motorcycle boots. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I realized that I kind of resembled those actors in gangster movies. I looked like one of those sketchy dudes lurking around the creepy alleyways of New York city, having anything but good intentions.

Bluey, the youngest girl said. " Yeah but I heard boss brought new Slave some months ago. Alot happened, am waiting for my gist mate to come and give details on everything " Pistol bragged. She's Spike's best friend, some mistake them as lovers. " I haven't seen those two bitches" " You mean Bianca and Sophia?" Bluey asked " Yeah. Those girls are annoying " Pistol said standing up. " Am going to bed. Good night everyone" she smiled and walked away. Dominic leaned back, a smug smile on his face. "We did good, team. But let’s not get too comfortable. There’s always another mission."
