Someone left peanuts in the fridge, and no one told me about it. After ten minutes, all the maids in the mansion were gathered, and they stood in front of me. "Why did no one talk about the packet of peanuts that were in the fridge? Who put it there?" I asked them. They all looked scared. They were hesitant to say who it was. So I reassured them that nothing would happen to them.

Inside it had business cards. Silver Cycle Associations. I put it all back and went to the other bed side drawer. I opened it yet found nothing important in there so I closed it and continued looking around. Where would I hide something very important? I asked myself. I thought for about a minute or so then picked up the mattress with my super strength. It wasn’t so difficult so I managed to look under and found papers. Stacks of it. I picked up one and it had a written dialogue between two people. Like evidence.

Liam said to himself as angrily hit his leg against a wooden chair in his new bedroom. Dahlia slept on the couch in the living room while Jade and Jake slept in their room. She couldn't sleep. She had a lot going on in her head. She then remembered Jake's mother's journal. She stood up and went to the room to ask Jake for it and he gave it to her. She took it to the dining area and began reading it. She saw the many things Edith wrote about Paak. It all seemed weird to her. A part of the journal read;

- Emerald you can start cleaning the bed. -Sure.- replied Esmeralda taking the blankets to put others. Meanwhile I looked in all the drawers of the room, but was not finding anything. I lowered to look under the bed, it was a place I could hardly believe that my mother staircase something there, she barely steps on the floor. And imagine her lying on the floor like a commoner would be hard to believe. Really who could believe that there was something under the bed, I took a box and realized that it was locked, called Esmeralda very low for the other not to hear.

In just her underwear, I could clearly see the damp stain spreading. I lowered my voice. "How about this—after I help your mom, I'll help you, okay? But you cannot tell anyone about what happened this afternoon. Not a single person. Especially not your mom." Jean blinked her big, watery eyes. "Why not?" I didn't know how to explain it to her, so I just said, "Never mind why. If you don't listen to me, I won't help you at all." Hearing that, she nodded quickly. "Okay, okay. I won't say anything. I promise."

“It’s perfectly normal to be paranoid. I shouldn’t have told you about my dead roommate.” Ariah casually walked toward the bed and lifted the covers. I cried out, stumbling back as she peered in under the bed. “See, nothing down there.” I backed away so far that I tumbled backward over Ariah’s bed, staring with unbridled mortification at the face peering back at me from underneath my bed. “Ariah, there’s a girl under my bed,” I squealed out, lifting my arm and pointing. “She’s right there.”

The manager didn’t care as long as I paid upfront. The room smelled like mildew and cigarettes. The mattress sagged in the middle. The shower water was brown. But it was ours. I laid Leo on the bed and just watched him breathe. Felt his chest rise and fall. Touched his tiny fingers. He’s real. He lived. And I’m the only one who knows. I didn’t call Rosa. Didn’t check my phone. I smashed the prepaid one under my shoe and threw the pieces in a storm drain. If they trace me, they’ll find a ghost.

I pop the 'p' "But before you go searching for him, I need your help. A really enormous spider just crawled under my bed right now—" I hear the shriek first before Chocolate crawls out of my bed, his face twisted in pure horror as he dusts out the phantom spider from his body, doing a small dance while he does so, though he stops he sees the look on my face, his making a sad one "No fair"

“Personalities, huh?” Callie grinned wider and leaned in like she was about to share the best gossip. “Oh yeah. Take Dean over there,” she said, pointing subtly to a lanky kid two tables away who kept glancing over his shoulder like he expected to be tackled at any second. “He tried to steal a delivery truck. Not just any truck. A prison supply truck.” My mouth parted in disbelief, but Callie wasn’t done. “And Mia? She’s obsessed with cutting up the mattresses. Claims she’s looking for hidden cameras. Last week she shredded three.”

When we're out of her room, I lift Kiara up, as we both head for my room. We're halfway to my door when I hear Mamma scream again, “MAKSIMMMM!” I close my door firmly, leading Kiara and I to the hiding spot I discovered when I was only nine. It's an underground lair. The entrance is under my bed. I lift the bed with as much strength as I can generate. Turning it over, there's a square-shaped iron-like cover in view. I unlock it after getting the key. Kiara stands, her face already stained with tears, including the dried and fresh ones.
