“Yeah. We have.” For a while, we just sat there by the river, our bodies pressed close, the sound of the water flowing gently around us. It feels like the world has finally quieted, like we’ve found a moment of peace in all the chaos. And for the first time in a long time, I feel like maybe, just maybe, we can make this work. •••

Peace. The word felt different now. It wasn't the fragile quiet after a storm, or the tense silence of a standoff. This was a peace that ran deep, down to the bones of reality itself. The Weave hummed with it. The songs of countless worlds, from the brave melody of the Cradle to the complex, rediscovered harmonies of Elysia, were no longer fighting to be heard. They simply were, each one a unique voice in a chorus that was finally, truly, in balance.

“Sammy is getting torn apart by his father by now. Victor is surrounded by enemies who smile to his face. I cannot just sit here and read while everything burns.” “And you cannot keep acting like you are invincible,” she snapped. “Let it stay that way.” Rhea smiled, resting her head against his shoulder. “Maybe we’re not meant for chaos anymore.” He looked down at her, a rare tenderness in his eyes. “Maybe not. Maybe peace doesn’t have to be boring.” She laughed softly. “You’d find a way to make peace chaotic.” “I’d call it interesting.” They sat there long after the sun had vanished, the air warm, the river calm. For once, there were no shadows waiting beyond the horizon, no curses or prophecies hovering above them.

We hope she’ll reveal herself to us and we hope she’ll decide to stay. The evergreen river, the one with blessed waters, She prides herself upon the earth, one of mother nature’s daughters. Do the books tell the truth? Is the story just a myth? Which of the elements is she? The third or fourth or fifth? Wherever this place is… wherever I am… I feel safe. I slow down as I approach the riverbank. The picture of the moon shimmering on the water plus the combined rustle of the leaves and swish of the grass create a lulling ambiance. Serenity. For the first time in a long time, I feel peace. “Kayleigh… Come here…” The sing-song call reverberates, faintly but clearly. It’s saying my name and summoning me to move closer to the river. “Where are you?” I amble a few more steps, just mere inches to the water.

I came here,when I needed peace which means every day and when I want to be focus and I just need to relax and sit down behind the perfectly designed wooden chairbeside the fire place, Peace. The wave of fresh breeze came in again, hitting my face and relaxing every muscle in me bringing me to a comfortable ecstasy as I let out a sigh of relief. "Did you miss me?", I raised my head from the book I was reading “ The Ridge” to the entrance of the library.

She croaked and began to wail. “Come on, baby. She’s okay. She’ll be okay, I promise.” He retorted. ___________ River happened to stumble in a bar when she became thirsty. She had been walking around taking pictures of wooden sculptures of creatures and human figures for a good hour and a half. She had already fallen in love with the small town and the breeze that flowed at night. Even during the day, it didn’t feel as hot and humid as in Texas. It was the opposite.

Riley laughed, hugging Lucas and Tiffany back, and then looked at River. “I think you’d better start reading that book,” she teased. “We’ve got some important decisions to make.” River nodded, still overwhelmed. He replied almost immediately: "You too, kid. Don't burn the house down." Since I had the rest of the day free, I decided to stop by the river. The water was crystal clear, reflecting the azure sky.
