Pen X Pencil Novels & Stories

) 38 I close my sketchbook and get up out of my bed and put the sketchbook on my desk. I'm trying to decide if I should color it or not. I don't usually add color to my drawings, but if the drawing I made is that good, I just might. I open one of the drawers to my desk and take out my colored pencils. My colored pencils are in a black, zipped up case, along with my pencil sharpener and erasers. I need a ton of little erasers because I write and draw a lot. 4

I nodded and looked at the children, "I see you're all ready for school." "Aiden stole my pencil!" Addison cried. "No, I did not!" Aiden muttered. "You did too," "Did not!" "Did too," "Enough, enough," I said. "All these for a pencil?" Mitch asked, chuckling under his breath and fondling their hair gently. "Here," He reached into his pocket and retrieved a fountain pen. He handed it to Addison. "Don't misplace this... or let your brother steal it." He winked at Aiden.

It was a pen that you fill with ink. "If I am the person writing my story then who is typing the words that are erasing my life?"

It was calling my name like a siren, and I refused to ignore it. When I took it to the counter, I spotted a display of pens that caught my eye right away. I asked to see them and the lady behind the counter disassembled one for me. Oh, my, where had this pen been all my life? It had a roller point, but it used classic fountain pen ink. She let me try it and I knew it had to be mine. It didn’t feel like scratching the paper, but caressing it, and the dark blue ink flowed perfectly.

My hands, stained with the permanent black graphite of the north and the dark indigo ink of the south, were steady as I held the split reed pen Julian had carved for me. I dipped the nib into the clay pot of indigo ink, watching the thick, vegetable-based fluid fill the split reservoir before touching the point to the fresh palm slat. My hand moved with a fluid, unyielding momentum, the reed making a sharp, satisfying scratch against the dried fiber:

I looked at the paper for a long time. It was a standard sheet, medium weight, slightly textured. The kind I had used throughout the program. The pencils in the cup were good ones, the kind that cost more than they look like they should. Marco had not bought the cheap set. I picked up a pencil. It was an HB, middle of the range, the right choice for a first mark when you do not know yet what you are drawing. My hand was shaking. Not dramatically. A fine tremor, the kind that shows up when you have not done something in a long time and your body is both remembering how and registering that it has been too long. I watched my hand for a moment. Then I put the pencil to the paper.

The ball point pen said to the pencil. “It's ok. As long as she's pweeedddyy” the pencil replied. “Seriously, Micah…” “I like her pretty hair” the pencil continued. “I like her pretty eyes” the pen replied. “And I like her pretty everything” Micah said in his normal voice. I blinked rapidly. I hadn't been expecting him to cut it out so suddenly. Neither had I been expecting him to say…all of that.

They chose to sit on the back porch and enjoy the morning that was turning into noon. "Can you draw?" Shareeza asked as she opened a crayon box with too many colors. Alethea was surprised and impressed when she saw it. During school, she had only been able to use a 12-color pencil set, and those were short. Even when she went to a bookstore, the largest set she'd seen was 48 colors. But Shareeza's? Rich people really were different, Alethea thought to herself in awe.

the lady said as she dropped the items that I had ordered on top of the counter. Clutching my hands tightly, I observed what was set in front of me. "That is 2B pencil," I muttered. "2B pencil. 5B pencil. All are the same," the lady said. "They are not the same. Their thickness is different. 5B pencil is not the same with 2B pencil." "If you say so, young man. But I don't have the 5B pencil you requested. 2B pencil is what I have and I cannot give you what I don't have in my store."

I don’t have a clue what type of pencil she use with her drawings. Blue pencils, yellow pencils, green pencils and oh there’s mechanical pencils too. I stared at these pencils for five seconds and picked an orange Faber Castle mechanical pencil. It says from the packaging grip matic and 0.5, I don’t even know the purpose of the number 0.5, but I took it anyway.
