THE BILLIONAIRE GAME: ROUND TWO

THE BILLIONAIRE GAME: ROUND TWO

Rumor had it that it was secluded because it was the place where priests chose to seduce parishioners. The confessional was closed, having only one door for the priest to enter. It was a kind of old wooden box. The side windows were covered with screens, so the priest could see the parishioner, but the parishioner could not see the priest. There was a step outside, so the penitent could kneel while confessing.

There's No Turning Back

There's No Turning Back

The chapel fell tomb-silent with the oppressive stillness that came before a storm when humidity thickened the air until breathing became laborious. Thomas finally spoke. "Leonard, what consequences do you propose?" Done with explanations, Leonard answered directly, "Harvey, Beau, and Ethel will undertake a penitential pilgrimage to Atkina Church—kneeling on every third step of the Sacred Way to pray for Xavier's wellbeing." Ethel gasped. "You're making us do the Penitent's Ascent?" The Penitent's Ascent required pilgrims to kneel and cross themselves at every third stone step along the winding mountain path.

I'm not gonna lie. This story does have skippable parts (I skipped the first 60 or so chapters and still figured stuff out fine. I also skip the child heavy chapters that don't include Harvey/Niamh). But this story really gets hilarious around chapter 280ish. Like the unhinged shit starts happening

Your Turn to Repent

Your Turn to Repent

The trees outside looked lifeless, frozen in the chill of winter. Not a single leaf remained on their branches. Inside the mansion, flowers bloomed vibrantly, a stark contrast to the dead landscape beyond. After the lavish luncheon, Colin drove to the cave where I was imprisoned. He stood outside, his voice cold and commanding. "Norah, have you realized your mistake yet? Just apologize, and I'll let you out."

Rejected and forsaken

Rejected and forsaken

Perhaps they were too scared to voice their opinions against their superiors. David saw innocent little pups peeking from behind their mothers, their little eyes filled with fear and uncertainty. David sighed. He can’t. He can’t hurt them. Those little souls were innocent. They certainly didn’t deserve to be punished. “I don’t believe that punishing the reminder of this pack is worth it. Those little innocent children don’t deserve to be punished for anything. They didn’t do anything. I don’t want to hold any grudges against this pack. You are free to go.” He announced and bit his lips.

Zoe answered, still not sure at what point she was driving. "What's a confession?" Dale wondered. "It's a time when you secretly come to talk to the priest. Both people demarcated but your voices are heard and then you confess your sins and then a penance would be given according to the gravity." "So you actually confess to that...?" Dale wondered. "If I had my way I wouldn't but aunt kept propelling me to do so. She makes me go together with her and sometimes goes ahead begging him to cleanse my sin with the holy water."

Her Graceful War Song

Her Graceful War Song

"If you don't come willingly, I'll drag you there! You can either walk, or I'll tie you up and make you carry thorn branches on your back." Carrying thorn branches on one's back was a traditional act of penance, where an individual who had committed a serious offense would bear thorny branches as a symbolic gesture of remorse and submission. The practice was a way to visibly demonstrate their sincere repentance and willingness to atone for their wrongs. "You wouldn't dare!" Aurora's anger flared, her voice trembling with indignation. "All I did was say a few words—what crime have I committed that's so unforgivable I need to beg for forgiveness with thorn branc

I love reading but choosy, and this book caught my attention as the author's thought was put into writing. It portrayed the life of normal and those in power clearly. It contains political, military, monarchial, business, education, martial arts, humanitarian, judicial aspects that I can relate to.

I like how this novel is now evolving into an interesting Sherlock Holmes case after the much-needed testimonies of Caden, Barett, Viola and Violet in particular... And I don't understand people's lack of patience, I really don't... for my part I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us

“I don’t know if Pen for Penemuel is with Uzmael” “Who is Penemuel?” I asked while seriously looking at her. “The angel who uses pen and paper as her weapon. She burned it in her lamp and then the smoke is a medium to send the message to the humans are weak… She can read emotion and write it with a death solution and spread it to the human” She looked at me like I didn’t get what she was saying because I don’t get it. That is why she explained it further. “Pen knows if you are sad… she will write it in a paper and she will put a solution to the sadness like kill yourself and she will send it to the world and for those who will receive her message end up killing themselves”

A Contract The Empire Couldn't Break

A Contract The Empire Couldn't Break

“She has been paying it her entire life.” The words landed with surgical precision. Elena bowed her head. “I know.” “She does not hate you,” he continued. “But she does not understand you either. That will come later. Or it will not.” “I will wait,” Elena said. “As long as it takes.” “That is not penance,” he replied. “That is patience. Do not confuse the two.” She nodded. “I will not.” He watched her for a moment longer, assessing. Then he stepped aside slightly, enough that she could see into the main room without fully entering.
