He gave a nervous little laugh, backing towards the doorway. “Yeah, no. That topic wasn’t covered in the pep talk.”
“You’ve already gotten your pep talk yesterday,” I said. “And this very well might be your last chance too.”

“Don’t stall,” I said, cutting him off. “I thought we were being brave tonight?”
“You were being brave,” he said. “Not me.”
“Come on, Reed,” I pressed. “How hard can it be to say ‘I love you’?”
