Turning Perci into a man is not the only reason why she chooses to marry him off. She had known that Perci still had those nightmares, she wanted him to get over his trauma. It may be a selfish and foolish decision but she does not want to tell Perci the reason behind those dreams and trauma. She believed that he could get hell from his trauma without even knowing when and where it started. She simply does not want him to remember the whole details of his childhood. He is now living healthy and fine; she does not want to bother him with his past experience.

We both looked back at it. “That was a terrible plan,” I said. “Why would you drive toward the building that’s on fire?” Percy laughed “He’s trying to get to the person inside,” “He’s going to get himself killed and then he won’t be able to get anyone.” “It’s romantic,” Percy teased. I glared at him “It’s stupid,” “Romantic and stupid have a significant overlap,” he said.

Percy said, his green eyes scanning my mates before quickly returning to me. "Hm! I now understand why you couldn't accept me," his whispered remark made me gulp, and I glanced around to see if my mates had heard him. "Ehm!" I cleared my throat, trying to dispel the awkwardness, and stepped back from him. Percy and I had grown up together. We used to be close friends until I befriended Alpha Ron. He didn't appreciate the bond between Percy and me. So, after some manipulation, he made me sever ties with Percy.

Percy on the other hand remained where he was, I could see the restraint in his form, his eyes danced with uncertainty on what to do next. I wanted him to fail, to cross the room and ease the tension in my body with a kiss and his hands to hold me but Percy won against my will and his urge. He let out a deep sigh and take a step backward. He eyed me one last time before retrieving upstairs leaving me by myself and unfulfilled desires. In frustration i climbed up to my room and shut the four leaning my back on the door, I shut my eyes and cupped my breasts with my hands, a low moan escaped my lips as my brain conjoured an image of hefty large hands which belonged to Percy.

Percy had checked on me twice already, her own eyes shadowed from nightmares she wouldn’t fully share. “You okay over there?” Percy asked from the kitchenette, sliding a mug of coffee my way. Her tattooed arm flexed as she moved, the ink a reminder of the armor she’d built after what those three monsters did to her. “Davin’s still ghosting?” I nodded, sipping the bitter brew. It burned going down, matching the twist in my gut. “Yeah. I keep replaying it. He looked so hurt, Perce. Like I betrayed him by not noticing. But I can’t force feelings. Not when I’m still picking up pieces from Girad. God, what if I lose him as a friend too?”
