The Mafia Boss and His Obsession

The Mafia Boss and His Obsession

Grace called as Matilda trotted off. It was only later that Alfie found out there were a hundred thousand dollars in the envelope. In the meantime, Grace and Xan were walking down a path. “This has been the most amazing night!” Grace said. “Who said it is over?” Xan said playfully as they walked through some trees. Grace suddenly noticed Chinese lanterns of different shapes, colours and sizes. Grace stopped to admire the detailed work that each lantern had. “These are remarkable!” Grace said. “All hand made by my countrymen. Come, My Love, we are almost there!” Xan said proudly.

His Only Reward

His Only Reward

" Jamie said with a smile. Jamie met an excited Rose at seven, before walking into the city. Jamie was amazed at the number of lanterns there were. It seemed that there was a lantern of every size, colour and shape. The streets were also full of stalls selling lanterns, food, and jewellery. Jamie and Rose wandered around enjoying the sights and sounds of the city. Jamie and Rose stopped at a latern stall and picked a lamp each. Rose picked a fish-shaped lantern that was a sea green colour, whilst Jamie chose a red phionix. They walked to the river and Jamie called to her fire element to light the candles and her air element to make the lanterns rise. "Make sure you make a good wish, Jamie.

Whisper of the stone heart

Whisper of the stone heart

I breathed a sigh of relief when it got further away from me. Lantern Loiterings are bad spirits born from regrets; if you faced it, it would swallow your soul turning it into fireflies imprisoned in its lantern. You can’t mess with the dead. I climbed a tall tree and made myself comfortable on a branch. I missed my bed, next to my sister.

The system forces me to be the villain

"Really?" Lac Hong Hao looked at it for a long time. Phedra Elizabeth was also a little interested, she went to a stall and picked up a lantern with delicate floral motifs and lines. On the lantern is also painted a couple of female oxen next to each other, holding hands tightly, attached, all eyes, minds, thoughts, and feelings are for each other, only thinking about each other. Give your heart to your partner. “Is it too romantic? A love that overcomes all barriers to be together even if it's only for one night."

Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted

Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted

he replied. Stella was speechless. 'No wonder Vermont pranks him all the time. He isn't particularly nice to him either.' There was a lantern event on 10th Street near Lumi River that day. The whole road was covered with lanterns. If one stood at the intersection, the century-old alley would look lively with endless lights illuminating it. While they were there, Stella saw an antique mask in one of the booths. She picked it up, put it to her face, and asked Keegan if it looked good.

I am on chapter 1700 and trust me this has to be the only book here that I have not lost interest in,i.e, the chapters have not dragged on and you literally are on the edge of your seat throughout the book. Enjoyed the whole book except the last few chapters.Hope the story doesn't become cliched now

What makes this story good are the characters, mainly the lead characters. Unlike other stories where the leads are usually portrayed as someone omnipotent with multiple hidden excellent identities, both Stella and Keegan have their own flaws and weaknesses, which made their characters more charming

“ I got these made. I do n’t know if it’s commodity you would like to do, but I allowed it would be a nice idea. Of course if you- ” She intruded me by screaming. “ Dear girl, stop rambling. ” She chortled. “ Whatever it's you ’ve got. We ’ll do it, ” she claimed. I pulled out a red sky lantern that had their names on and ′ ever soul mates ′ with a black figure of two wolves heads snuggling together. I watched their responses to see if anyone did n’t like them. “ Clara. ” Addi breathed. “ They're gorgeous. ” She replied. Amaris ’ eyes welled up, and she pulled me into a clinch, “ thank you so much, ” she rumored. I hugged her back and jounced. I gave the lanterns out wit

Sacrificed to the Dragon Prince

“Are the new lanterns ready to ship to Elfholm?” “Yes, My Liege,” he simpers, his down-turned face growing red with excitement. “They were most eager for this new improved shipment. They were having a hard time replacing the portable fuel source because of their fragile nature, but now that we’ve perfected the hardening serum, that should not be a problem moving forward. “Excellent,” I nod my approval as I continue to scroll. “I would like to see Sample JaDaax22,” I command. “It looks like it is ready to harvest.”

The writing is clunky at times, but the story and the characters are mesmerizing. This was my first dragon romance, and it was incredible. So glad the sequel has already started because the ending is criminal. I want to see all my favorites find their happiness.

Sold to the Alpha King

Sold to the Alpha King

The pack gathered for the Lantern Walk, every soul clutching a paper lantern inscribed with a hope or remembrance. Torin began by lighting his lantern, inscribed with the name of a friend lost in the first siege. One by one, lanterns glowed to life. Ezra’s bore the single word choice. Alara’s read unity. Damien’s lantern sported a shaky heart drawn by Seren’s youngest apprentice, prompting Damien’s soft chuckle. Lucas proudly displayed an illustrated sword and spoon, earning head shakes all around. Seren’s lantern read healing; Eamon’s knowledge; Cassian’s legacy; and little Elira’s lantern, carried by Ezra, simply bore a handprint pressed in safe dye.

Bride of the Beasts

“It’s happening.” I swallowed quickly. “What’s happening?” “The lanterns,” Brammon said. “They’re about to be lit and released.” Fenric grinned. “You should fly one.” We made our way toward the center of the square, and somehow Brammon already had a paper lantern in hand. He placed it carefully into mine. The small flame inside cast a warm, golden glow through the paper. “Release it when it’s time,” he said. Then, after a brief pause, he added, “But you have to make a wish first.”

Frequently Asked Questions

I recently picked up 'The Lantern' on a whim, and it completely sucked me into its gothic, atmospheric world. The story follows two timelines—one set in the 1950s about a blind girl named Benedicte who grows up in a lavender farm in Provence, and the other in the present day about a woman named Eve who moves into the same farm with her new partner, Dom. As Eve renovates the house, she uncovers eerie connections to Benedicte's past, including whispers of a murder and a missing sister. The way the author weaves the two narratives together is masterful, with the scent of lavender and the flicker of lanterns haunting every page. It’s part mystery, part romance, and all haunting vibes—perfect for anyone who loves slow-burn psychological tension.

What really got me was how the setting becomes a character itself. The lavender fields, the crumbling farmhouse, the way light plays tricks on you—it all builds this sense of unease that lingers even after you finish the book. I couldn’t help but think about how places hold memories, and how the past never really stays buried. If you’re into books like 'The Shadow of the Wind' or 'Rebecca,' this’ll be right up your alley.
