They even took pictures of the banquet hall, which was set up very nicely, by the way. Round tables and chairs covered with expensive white silk lined the polished floor of Percy’s pride and joy.

She didn't understand what they were talking about. "I heard the Earl of Latrommi's heirloom is one of the items up for auction tonight," Percy said, changing the topic. "That's what brought me here..." Xyrius replied coldly, his expression turning grim. He grabbed a glass of wine from a passing waiter. Percy did the same. Everyone paused and turned to look at me. I wanted to talk to Percy, to tell him that resisting was futile, but the words were hard to come by. Finally, driven by frustration, I got out, "Per-cy...ward is...bett...er." He looked at me, slowly nodding, and finally settled more comfortably into it, shifting with Deirk until they found a more comfortable way to manage. Percy ended up eating both his plate and mine. Observing his hunger and how he acted around food made me wonder about his past and what he might have gone through to be so intensely focused on his meal.

One rainy afternoon, Amelia misplaced her journal at the library. It had been a long day — essays due, caffeine crashing, umbrella snapped in the wind. She searched everywhere, frantic. Percy nodded with a cold expression on his face. He didn't say any important after that and just ended his speech with a greeting. Everyone clapped their hands after his short speech. The event went on and businessmen were already gathered at one table to talk about their companies. Percy was one of them, he was sitting beside Ezekiel Dela Cruz who was having a good time chatting with the daughter of a businessman beside him.
