Dear Reader Thank you for reading the first chapter of the book called, My Perfect Mess. My Perfect Mess was originally written as an Interactive Story Game. I am in the process of adapting it into a novel form. The original version contains a great deal of dialogue to fit the platform for which it was intended. Though you can enjoy the story in its interactive format too as currently published. (eg when Becca speaks, the format will be as this: Becca ~ “What is there to explain, Matt.”)

He became more withdrawn, spending longer hours at his drafting table, his mind clearly elsewhere. One afternoon, Lisa returned home early from a cancelled client call to find Tessy in his living room. Grey was standing by the window, his back to the door, while Tessy sat on their sofa, flipping through one of his private sketchbooks—the one filled with personal designs, dreams he’d never shown anyone. “Oh, Lisa!” Tessy exclaimed, snapping the book shut with a guilty look that didn’t quite reach her eyes. “I was just showing Grey some of the floor plans for my sunroom. He has such a brilliant eye for spatial flow.”

It's just your typical view when you see everyone back at school. I ignore all of them and look for a certain person. Elena nudges me, pointing to a boy striding over to us. His wild, untame, ash-blond hair bounces as he takes his steps—wait, what conditioner does he use? I need it—and his blue eyes gleam with happiness. The crowd literally parts for him, because this, ladies and gentlemen, is Reese Sultan. The school's very own golden boy.
