"Are you sure?" Alain, sitting beside Eden, watched her play, occasionally offering a few tips. "The herb is called Dragon's Beard. It closely resembles the Bloodgod Herb and can extend one’s life by three years when made into an elixir," Eden explained calmly. Horace and Caelus were both shocked. "Three years?" Even Alain looked a bit surprised, his gaze thoughtful as he studied the Dragon's Beard. "Yeah," Eden confirmed, still focused on her game. "Then we should bid on it so that you can make the elixir. An extra three years of life... The people in Rielton will go crazy for it, right?" Horace said excitedly.

“I saw this and thought of you.” I open it and find a small charm made of amber glass in the circular shape of a dragon biting its tail. It hangs from a delicate gold chain and has a weightiness that makes me reconsider its composition. Stone, perhaps? The effect is striking as the emerald eyes look so alive, it really does give the impression I have a baby dragon curling around my neck. Lastly, I have a ring shaped so that the dragon tail, curls around my finger and the main body sits on my hand, held in place by a small chain around my wrist. This one is made to look asleep as the eyes are closed, but there are inset alternating diamonds and sapphires along its spine, to imitate back scales.

The girls whooped and hugged her as if she’d just won a tournament. They spent hours exploring, feeding the miniature dragons that purred like kittens, making flower crowns from blooms that rearranged themselves into patterns of glowing sigils, and daring each other to leap through rainbow fountains. At one stall, Elira convinced Seraphine to try a charm ring that changed her hair color at random with every snap of her fingers. For several minutes, Seraphine’s hair flickered from emerald green to fire-red to icy white, until she was laughing so hard she couldn’t even breathe.
