Harry draped their body over the dragon’s chest, pressing their ear to the hide, celebrating the steady beat and rise and fall of the ribs. Alive. Gloriously alive. Scales moving underneath my lower back had me scooting away. I had been sleeping upright on this massive pearl dragon. The light that filtered through the trees hit the scales at such an angle. The golden dragon swayed its body, emitting an angry roar. The merfolk priest widened his eyes, then suddenly, there was a loud bang as his body exploded into pieces.

While Gerald remembered seeing a picture of a similar instrument with pearls in the dragons’ mouths, these dragons had large copper coins in their mouths instead. “Please place your hands on any two of the dragons’ heads,” said Master Ghost. Gerald simply obeyed, and moments after touching the cold dragon heads, the eyes of all nine of the copper dragons began glowing in a green light! With how lustrous their eyes were, the nine dragons almost seemed to be alive. As Gerald continued looking at them curiously, he soon heard ‘clinking’ sounds coming from the instrument.
