The Boy who Circled Time
"Colours are the friends of their neighbours, and the lovers of their opposites."
That was what the old lady, who he shared his birthday celebration with, used to say to him every year. The April celebration wasn't particularly large, and was mostly for the adults to drink until dawn and do all the weird stuff that they seemed to always want to do, but wasn't allowed normally. He sat next to the old lady, as she was the only one who wouldn't be hurling some sort of abuse at him, and every year, she brought new little pieces of sewing she needed to complete, and would spend the night embroidering and stitching on extra little patterns: flower crowns, work tools, and love hearts.
