I let out a small laugh, amused by his seriousness. “And what business is that of yours, brother?”
He frowned, his brows knitting together as his jaw clenched. “You’re a damn pervert,” he muttered, his voice cold, each word like a blade slicing through the silence between us.
I nearly laughed out loud. The irony was too delicious, especially considering I knew what he’d been up to. “You’re one to talk, Rhett,” I replied, shoving my hands into my pockets in a gesture of casual defiance.
