Everything in her was telling her not to be in a room alone with these two handsy men. Hesitantly, she stepped into the room. She was amazed at the loud sounds that were instantly muted behind the door as Oliver closed it behind him. The room was eerily still. Brooklyn tried to ignore the table, chairs, and mattress in the room and focused on the two men, her arms folded while she tried to look hard and professional. “So what is it you guys want?” Peter walked over to the table and poured himself a glass of whiskey. He tilted the glass to her in a silent offer. She shook her head, so he poured another one and walked over to his cousin, handing him a glass.

Safety. “Dinner is served in the main hall at six sharp,” I tell her. “There’s a bell. Don’t miss it unless you want to eat leftovers with the raccoons.” She cracks a smile and nods. That’s a good sign. Next, I walk across the corridor and open the door to Parker’s room. He leans against the wall with his usual half-bored expression, but his eyes are alert. He’s already cataloged everything—one pillow, no lock on the closet, boots tucked under the cot that aren’t his.

"I had this panic room installed three months ago." She started to duck inside. Dave caught her by the arm. "Stay close to me, Chelsea. If anything happens to you, I can't…" He let the thought run, but his touch lingered a little too long. She gave him a puzzled look before nodding. They entered the dimly lit, vast room. Large oak barrels, paper supply shelves, and massive, hand-hewn wooden tables gave the impression that the secret chamber was nothing more than a workroom. Chelsea reached inside to flip on a light switch. "Christie? " She spoke quietly. "Are you here? Peter? This is Chelsea."

Phew, that means they couldn't have been eating those hobos. Not even bothering with the boarded-up doors and windows on the first few floors, the two just hopped in through the fifth story. Syn led him into the only room that didn't look like hell, obviously they'd done some redecorating. The walls were adorned with white sheets, a new carpet covered the floor and piles of pillows, cushions and mattresses were the only furniture. "Who's the Pulse?" Asked a voice from behind. Mike turned and saw someone lurking the doorway. "Relax Mark, he's with me. He's a newbie, doesn't even know how to go Cold yet."

My eyes widened as the wall opened after Alan pushed the door with his foot. “Is that a secret room?” I asked in amazement at the dark room behind the door. “Sort of. Peter's makeshift bunker in case he wants to run and hide.” Alan led me into the room and closed the door with his foot again. When the door closed with a loud click, Alan lowered me to the floor.

They were easily three sizes too big for me, but they were warm, so I slid my feet into them and shuffled toward the door. Wandering out of the guest room, I immediately realized that Peter’s penthouse wasn't just an apartment; it was a luxury containment facility. I walked down a long, echoing hallway lined with moody, dark wood paneling and hidden LED strips. When I approached the massive, open-concept living room, I stopped in my tracks. The space was staggering. The entire western wall was glass, offering a panoramic view of the sparkling waters of Puget Sound. A sleek, low-profile sectional couch in charcoal gray dominated the center of the room, positioned perfectly in front of a float

No cameras. No neighbors. No traceable signals. Only one way in. One way out. Peter parked and got down. Karen blinked. “What is this place?” “A safe house,” Peter said simply. “My father built it when we were boys. Mark doesn’t know about it. No one does.” He opened her door, lifting her again because she looked too shaken to walk. “Peter, you’re scaring me.” His jaw clenched. “I’m scared too,” he whispered honestly. “Because if Mark had found you tonight”

This was what horror movies were made of. “You sure about this place?” Ruby asked, looking at Parker. “It’s fine. I’ve stayed in this place plenty of times,” Parker said, but he refused to make eye contact. “You have actually slept in one of these rooms?” Parker hesitated. “Yes, though it has been a couple years.”

I left her and went inside Peter's room. I am glad she left when I went inside Peter’s room though. The room is messy. Clothes everywhere and some things aren’t even arranged properly. It is dark too just like when I went here. Just the light from the lamp on the table placed near Peter’s bed. I even saw a sex toy on the table. I just shook my head at the view. I don’t have a say on what they did because it is their own life but at least clean after doing that thing or spray something that will make the smell disappear.

I was the last to leave the park and it was already so dark. . “One room please” I told the receptionist as she took a cigarette out of her mouth before staring at me. I passed her a dollar as I looked around the room, I didn’t feel even a bit safe around here as it seemed like it was a place for mafias. There wasn’t even one sensibly dressed person here as everybody here was either dressed like a goon, stripper, drug addict or something stupid. “Here you go, third floor, fifth room by your left “ she told me as she gave me a key and a ticket.
