Phoenix is twice the size of Roan but she is very thin from being underfed. “She’s only five, I thought you were the youngest lycan to shift when you were nine?” Jonathan asks, making me nod as I watch Phoenix mauling her dads, as her tail swishes side to side uncontrollably. “She’s a hybrid and has lived some very extraordinary circumstances, she probably shifted to survive. She is beautiful,” I explain, watching Gunnar trying to catch her tail making me giggle as she turns around and looks at him sideways.

The words hung in the air as I pulled away from Spike, still holding onto his arm, unable to fully let go. I knelt beside Phoenix, my hand resting gently on her shoulder. It’s as if she’s tattooed his entire body with her image.

When I stood, I was staring at a magnificent, black and orange feathered Phoenix identical to myself. I called my power back and his gray eyes never left mine. It worked. Now I just had to see if I could force the healing too.
