Riyan nodded, but when he tried to make a run for it, his path was suddenly obstructed. "Fucking wolves!" Jett cursed, eyeing the cursed breed with anger and malice, especially knowing their Alpha was nowhere to be found. "KILL THEM ALL!" he jumped, being the first to tackle down the wolf that blocked Riyan's path. "Go!" He ordered, biting the wolf while Riyan made a run for it, without looking back.

Eclipse shouted in my mind. I wish there was a volume button to lower her tone in my head. "Or he just got hit by Karma in advance." "Oh! Shut up. He took the blow for you. Cut some slack, would you?" Eclipse retorted. I don't understand what is going on with my wolf. Why is everyone siding with Xavier? Is it because he looks adorable? "He's one big cinnamon roll." Eclipse cooed. Remind me to slap her when I shift into the wolf form.

She took to her heels and ran home as fast as her legs could carry her. Lisa got home, visibly upset and agitated. She frantically began overturning furniture and breaking objects in a fit of rage.

I stood before the mirror, trembling. “Come out!” I screamed. My voice cracked. “Come out, damn you!” But there was no answer. “You're supposed to be my wolf companion! My protector! How could you, how could you kill him?” My breath came in ragged sobs. “You monster… You coward! Show yourself!” My wolf didn’t speak. It was like she’d buried herself deep inside me, ashamed, or worse… indifferent. I collapsed to the floor, broken and breathless, tears searing down my cheeks. I curled into myself, praying that this was all a nightmare, that I’d wake up and find my father humming in the kitchen, that the arena had never happened, that my wolf had never emerged.
