Her eyes took on a clouded look.
“Is what?” Xander prompted.
Phoenix grew quiet and held up a slender finger in the air, asking for a minute. Her eyes flitted back and forth quickly, seeing something we were not. I looked at my boys, but they looked just as confused as I did. Her eyes stilled, and a big smile overtook her face.
“Ah, yes, there it is,” she exclaimed, tapping the air with her finger.
Her presence reminded me of what Fae might be like. She was lithe and moved about as if floating along the air.
