Coming out of the ashes, and soaring high into the sky, like the phoenix. I should be like that. . But I don't know, whether I will be fully capable of it.

“Hi, Phoenix.” The name had come to me weeks ago, during one of my darkest moments. Phoenix. Rising from the ashes. Being born from destruction. That’s what this baby represented. New life from all the death and trauma. Hope from despair. A future from ruins. I kissed his tiny forehead despite the exhaustion pulling at me, despite the pain still radiating through my body. This is his life. Another symbolism of fire is judgment. "I love my fans, I really do." He didn't prepare a speech. He's just speaking things that enter his mind. It doesn't have an order.

“Who the fuck says I wasn’t? I fucking bled to death in your arms! It’s just that—” Zedekiel sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Alaric, did his death truly shock you that much? Phoenixes don’t die permanently. They always rise from their ashes, remember?” The other phoenixes who had turned into ashes, also rose since their King had risen. They had all been waiting for him. The realization struck Alaric like lightning and his sorrow instantly flipped to fury. He stormed up and landed a solid punch across Talon’s grinning face, sending him flying.

Everyone felt the air suddenly becoming more turbulent and even the earth was shaking slightly. "Swoosh!" The sound of a phoenix cry that was sharp enough to shatter metals echoed in the sky. A gigantic phoenix flew across the sky leaving purple flames in its trail, as it looked down on everyone on the ground. With a flip of its wings, flames ignited the entire sky. The Phoenix Doctrine had taught us that we must be destroyed before we can rise again like a bird that is born from ashes.. The doctrine was wrong about what destroys us because it thought that the destruction came from outside something that we could control like an enemy that we can fight. It did not consider the burn of our own conscience like a fire that is burning inside us eating us away. Julian had been burning inside for years like a man who is dying. I had just started to feel the fire, like a flame that is growing.

She landed between the Guardians and the wolves, her eyes blazing molten gold. “When the sky burned, I carried hundreds on my back. When the darkness came, I died and rose again so others would not.
