Chapter 25 Janet walked into Dan’s home with confidence and the greatest performance she could muster to fool the devil himself. Dinner with him sporadically wasn’t too suspicious as they greeted each other with kisses on the cheeks and warm smiles. I smiled slightly, realizing how peaceful my week was going to be. “That's a sight I didn't expect to see, considering all you have been through.” I turned my gaze towards the voice and smiled brighter than Daniel had ever seen me do. “And that reaction as well” he pointed at my smiley face. He smiled back pointedly, as I sat upright and beckoned him closer. His mock surprise was comical, which threw us in a fit of laughter as he got nearer. My laughter turned into a gasp when his stance became predatory and his eyes darkened lustfully.
