Pigtails In Paint 소설 & 이야기

, which was what they called the little six by six heavily ventilated room they had to store and mix paint in. Along one wall there was a work counter, but other than that the whole room was lined with shelves of paint almost to the ceiling. In the corner there was an urn-like machine that old paint got poured into and the thinner extracted from. They'd recycle it and use it to clean stuff around the shop. The paint closet was always clean and well organized. It was a necessity in their line of business, where they often had custom artwork projects where paint couldn't be mixed or mistaken. They were sorted by manufacturer, then by colour, then by finish type. That made it very easy to match

“Every living thing has its own music—we just have to be quiet enough to hear it.” Lysander worked quickly now, mixing his pigments with careful precision as he studied the scene before him. He started with the sky, layering thin washes of color to capture the way dawn light transitions from deep purple to soft pink to brilliant gold. He painted the mountain in shades of blue and grey, letting the paper show through in places to create the illusion of distance and air.

“Would it be alright for me to do some weights?” We nodded in unison, pretending that nothing out of the ordinary was taking place. We continued painting the material and watched as the ghoulish shapes and scary scenes started taking place. I was banished from painting anything other than cobwebs and trees after I attempted to paint a witch riding on her broomstick in the sky... instead it turned out to look more like a rather strange stick figure with a growth deficiency. Luckily Violet managed to paint over it and turned my deformed witch into a flying saucer, complete with a green alien waving out of a window.

Bad Tabitha. Katy wraps her brush around the last unpainted inch above a window and I take one last swipe with my roller to fill in the last non-blue line. Light blue paint flicks off the roller, a drop landing on my forehead. "There. The room looks great." Katy steps back from the wall. "Now we'll let it dry for a few hours and then come back and do a second coat." "A second coat?" She's kidding right? "Yeah, the blue is light. It will take at least another coat. Maybe two. Do you have extra bags to store the rollers?" She takes the plastic bag from the hardware and wraps up her brush full of blue paint.

“Mmm. Remember that when it comes time to fill mine, cowboy.” “Don’t you mean cowboys?” She changed the subject. “The paint washes off, right?” “Nope. It’s oil paint. We’ll have to use turpentine.” “Oh my darlin’, oh my darlin’, oh my darlin’, turpentine…” He snickered. “You’re singin’? I think the paint fumes have affected your brain.” “You would know all about that.” “Mean,” Carter whispered against the nape of her neck. “You are mean as a snake sometimes, Amazin’ Macie.”

"Watch." Dipped his finger in, touched a piece of scrap canvas. Paint changed, the blue went purple, then pink, then red. My wolf perked up. Magic? Magic! I can smell it. "That's..." "Magic! Heat reactively, it's your turn." I hesitated, then I touched my finger with the paint, to the same spot his finger marked. The colors exploded, his and mine mixing, and creating something new. Purple and blue and pink and red all swirling together.
