The huge golden pillar was magnificent and grand. It was so pure that it lit up the dull sky of Alr. It was a pity that there was no one else here to see this gorgeous sigh; and those who were, didn’t look so impressed by the golden pillar. Huginn croaked, annoyed at the display. They stood tall and imposing, made of dark gray stone and covered in intricate carvings that seemed to tell a story of their own. I felt a strange pull towards them, as if they held some kind of ancient power. At the base of each pillar, I saw a heavy chain running through metal pulleys, connected to a circular dial embedded inside of each pillar. I walked over to pull on one of the chains, but it didn’t budge.

The golden light in my skin was flaring so bright it was blinding, and for a split second, I saw a vision through the heir’s eyes: the world wasn't made of buildings and people; it was made of flickering candles of energy, and the heir was the only thing in the dark that knew how to breathe them in.
