She walked through the large hall, her foot steps echoing a few times before fading out into complete silence. She walked past tall, white pillars that looked like they were carved out of marble. These pillars were so tall that their tops could not be seen with naked eyes. Their bottoms, however, were covered in a white, glowing mist, and the entire pillar was decorated with golden and silver paintings spiraling around them from top to bottom.

Marcus grabs my waist and pushes me behind him, “Your highness.” He did a bow-like gesture. “What are you doing?” Marcus opens his mouth to say something but doesn’t. “ And do not even think about lying. Your job was to stay hidden and to keep your eyes on her.” The purple eyes slowly faded to gold and Marcus sighed.

My lips are clearly reflected in the pupils of his eyes. I press my palm into the silky material enveloping his whole being. Instead of being dissuaded he clasps his hands around mine and continues to edge his lips closer to mine. "Uriah-" I spew gracelessly. He leans back and narrows his eyes on me.
