I asked making her nod her head quickly. I took two pieces off my pizza and place them on her plate then I took a bite from my pizza. She ate the pineapple and did a happy dance in my lap. "We'll go grocery shopping for you tomorrow and we'll get pineapple for you." I told Maddie which made her jump up and down while clapping her hands. "Adorable! That's what you two are." Mike said making me smile. I finished the slice of pizza and Harvey grabbed me another slice and I took three pieces of pineapple off and gave them to Maddie.

Despite the frustration that flashed in her eyes, Pixie simply nodded and held up a balled up hand with only her pinky sticking out. "What’s this?" I asked, eyeing it. "Pink promise." Pixie explained. "You lock your pinky with mine and then we shake." "Oh." Feeling annoyed by having to have something explained to me by a child, I did as she said, and we shook. Satisfied that our promise was set in stone, Pixie dropped her hand and scurried back to where Lindsey stood watching.

She said breathlessly as she'd had to hurry into her pants and then to the phone. "Ash? Are you exercising?" It was Lance. "Hell no!" "Well why are you breathing so hard?" "Um…so I can live." He laughed. "Pretty In Pink is coming on at eight-" She squealed. "Pretty In Pink!" "Yep, I'm coming over with a pizza-" "I already got PF Chang's! But not enough for you," she added. "So you better eat before you come over…and maybe pick up some ice cream to go with this cheesecake."

I insisted. He sighed a little, then turned to the woman, who was obviously confused. He spoke to her in their human language. “Sure, why not? We don’t have anything important to do today, so sure. We would go out with both of you.” The way she spoke back was a clear indication that she had agreed to my terms. “Pizza,” I said to the little girl. “Pizza!” she yelled back, then started clapping. Her excitement was infectious. I found myself smiling along, and in the thrill of the moment, I raised my hand, just like Daniel did earlier, and I clapped my hands against each other.
