Hellblades
We barely had time to roll aside before thick tree trunks erupted from the earth, slamming upward like nature itself was rebelling.
Branches spread above, weaving together until the sky was gone. The canopy swallowed the light, leaving behind a dim green twilight. Damp moss coated the ground. The air turned heavy and humid. Somewhere above, birds scattered with warning cries.
Pelin groaned, brushing leaves from her hair. “Oh great,” she muttered. “She made us a forest.”
Leaves rustled above, Somewhere in the canopy, a crow screeched and took flight, vanishing into the gloom.
