Play Nice But Win Novels & Stories

But she quickly came down from that high, it was Astrid's dream not hers. A cheeky smile melted against Anaise's face as she recalled their chess game. She had won him easily, maybe he was taking it easy on her. The sight of his plummeted brows and pursed lips as he stared in hard concentration at the board. Every single time Anaise achieved one of his pawns his lips will stew into a pout that remained till the game was over. Now it was time for her to choose what she would win and Ryker was whispering silent prayers under his breath that whatever she asked for would benefit them both.

Her lips curled up in a sly smile. The next match was between White house and Blue house. Again white house won the toss and won the match also. Lucas alone stole all the attention of every single audience. Blue house was looking tired. Except for Nicolas, none managed to keep the ball long and they only scored one goal so the result was very clear that the white house was going to win the match. Everyone in the white house was playing so smooth and flawless that it was really hard to look away from them. Helen and Daisy both were cheering for the blue house so their defeat made all their fans sad including them. But Nicolas was looking chilled. Even at the end of the match he looked in Dais

That's not fair! "What's not fair is you sabotaging my game," he said, sinking three baskets in rapid succession. The machine dinged triumphantly, announcing his victory. In retaliation, I bit his shoulder… not hard, just enough to make my point. He yelped, releasing me. "Did you just bite me?" "Maybe," I said, crossing my arms and pouting. "You were being mean." "I was winning fair and square!" He was grinning now, that devastating smile that made my heart do stupid things. "Unlike someone who resorts to dirty tactics."

She was surely going to keep to them as they made a lot of sense. “It will soon be time,” Marcel smiled. He was the best in games like this as he knew how well to tackle his enemies. Make them comfortable. Make them lose guard. Make them happy and when they think that they are winning, you show them what exactly you are made of. As a good businessman, things like this are a piece of cake for him. “Ready?” “Yes, Daddy.” “Yes.” “Gooooo.” “Yayy.” “Woahhh.”

A few of the boys mumbled their agreement. “I know you’re tired and the cold isn’t helping but I know a few of you can play better than what you were out there twenty minutes ago! Now, I need to know are you going to give everything you got win, lose, or draw!” “Yeah!” they all yelled. “If we lose, then don’t make it easy for them! Make them earn the win at least! But if you start playing smart, you can do it! We can take it home! Granted, I give you a play to follow but just this once, if you get in a situation out there where you can capitalize do it! I won’t get pissed. Just this once,” he said with a little smile.

But because if Reid touched him like that, if he lost, there’d be no turning back. The match started. Every drift, every item box, every damn banana peel was life or death. Blake's concentration frayed under the weight of Reid’s quiet laughter, the sideways glances, the subtle flex of his fingers on the analog stick. Thirty minutes later, the screen declared it. Reid. Winner. Again. Blake tossed the controller like it was poisoned. “You cheated.” Reid raised an eyebrow, reclining lazily on his bed. “I’m just better.” Blake scowled, heading for the door, but halted when a warm hand wrapped gently around his wrist.

Sukoon's face lit up with a triumphant smile, her eyes sparkling with a mix of pride and exhilaration. Vihaan, though momentarily disappointed, couldn't help but admire Sukoon's skill and tenacity. He joined the applause, a wide grin spreading across his face as he congratulated her on her well-deserved win. Their rivalry transformed into a deep-rooted friendship, forged through the challenges of the game and the shared thrill of competition.

He rarely use it but Flame insisted he teaches her how do play. "Wow, you're good at it" Cisco smiled. "Another round, the person who loses will go and get refreshments" Flame said. "I'm on!" Cisco said and they began another round. All through, Cisco stared at Flame's face. It's rare to see her this carefree and openly showing her happy she looked. Maybe that's why he purposely lost so he could see her happy face as she wins. "I won again!" Flame jumped, giggling happily. "Pineapple juice please" Flame smirked and Cisco chuckled..

Looking at our tiles, it doesn't look like we would win because we have an X and a Q, and there isn't anywhere else to put them. They played their last game and we played ours. They won. With a margin of two. Fair game, we could have won, but we weren't beaten by a large margin. Jo and I high-fived ourselves, despite our loss, we're in good spirits. It's now one to one and the next game will determine if we will win this or not. I want to win, not just for Jo, but for the satisfaction of beating Rose at something, so I can use it to gloat later.

The kid smiled, and played all out for the rest of the game. The three of us, along with two other guys, worked together like we'd been playing together for years, and we ended up winning the game, forty-three to thirty. Hey, we couldn't let Ray feel too bad. We let him score, at least, in one way. It was probably the only score he'd get. "Hey, great game!" Zac said, giving me a high five as we darted off to the showers. "Where did you learn how to play like that?"
