Then, he pulled the needle through and repeated the motion. The pattern was simple and repetitive, but Zen’s clumsiness made his stitching uneven. Jordan pierced the suture needle through her flesh and out the other side of the wound beginning his first stitch. He glanced up expecting Lilly to move but she remained perfectly still. She shut her eyes as he pushed the needle through the other side. “What’s marking?” Lilly asked, her voice calm and steady.

Lila stuck a hand into her right skirt pocket and rummaged around for a moment, before pulling out a tiny pink, zip up purse that was the size of her palm. She put down her torch for a moment and opened up the bag, pulling out a single spool of black thread wrapped around a long, thin cardboard tube with a needle tied down to the string. After a bit of fiddly tugging, she was able to free the needle and walked over to Jasper, who took the sharp point from her.
