Wrong Pair of Eyes

Wrong Pair of Eyes

He was looking at her with that careful expression, the one he got when he was about to ask something he’d been sitting with for a while. “What do you mean?” she asked. “I just—” he stopped. Searched for it. “Sometimes this visit you’ve seemed far away. Not always. Not even most of the time. But sometimes I’d be talking and I’d look at you and you were—” he gestured vaguely, “—somewhere else.” The candlelight moved between them. She held his gaze. “Long distance does strange things,” she said carefully. “It takes time to be properly present again. To not be waiting for the call to end or the visit to finish.”

Under The Same Sky

Under The Same Sky

“I know you'll make it in time. Do you still write? “Actually I stopped some time ago; I couldn't reconcile with everything else. “It's a shame, but I understand; after I entered the print shop it became more difficult to maintain the routine with the books, but I try the way I can. He smiled, shrugging, in a sweet, shy and cute way; I even forgot how kind and talented he was too, I used to read everything he wrote, I think that's what bonded us in the beginning, until we lost touch over the years; Before I could say anything more a bus stopped there and he smiled wanly, as if he was apologizing, he nodded and I saw him get on the bus, squeezing his way past the people who wouldn't give way;

Enemies At The Altar

Enemies At The Altar

But the longing, the ache, the fire simmering just below the surface—those would last far longer than the walls between them. And as she finally closed her eyes, she realized something else: Distance didn’t make the feelings go away. It made them burn brighter.

Alpha's Cursed Bride

Alpha's Cursed Bride

They had been the blooming itself. The manor had never stood. It had been the standing itself. The great oak had never grown. It had been the growing itself. Every symbol had pointed to its own pointing. Every metaphor had dissolved into its own dissolving. Every attempt to describe had succeeded by failing. Because description requires distance. And there was never distance. Only intimacy. The intimacy of seeing with seeing. The intimacy of hearing with hearing. The intimacy of feeling with feeling. The intimacy of knowing with knowing. No gap.

Alpha's Little Secret

Alpha's Little Secret

“Even if he doesn’t reject you, the plan still works.” I snapped my head up. "How?" And why was I still taking advice from her? Oh, Zach would have a field day with me if he ever learnt about what happened. "Distance." She answered it simply, like the answer was very obvious and I was just too stupid to grab it. "If you stay far away from the man for just long enough, the bonds weakens on its own. Weakens enough to fade until it is no more." "Fade?" “Yes,” Rhea replied. “Eventually, it’s like it was never there.”

His Mask, My Sin

His Mask, My Sin

Creating distance. The conceptual closeness that had formed between observer and observed expands again. “It’s retreating,” Matteo says. “No,” I reply. “It’s measuring distance.” Aidan nods. “Yes.” “Between what.” I answer without looking away. “Between understanding and trust.” Silence settles. Heavy. True. Because we have crossed one threshold and not the other. We can interpret patterns. It can interpret us. But understanding does not erase caution. Understanding often sharpens it. The point holds at that new distance.

Twist of Fate

Twist of Fate

Of course we used to talk via calls these days , but I wanted to feel his voice from being beside him , not from being miles away from him. Though the distance did good to us, the distance made me realise how madly i’m in love with him and i’m thankful to the distance we had since last few days because if not this distance happened to us i would have still neglected the need of my heart by covering up with lame excuses and would have missed my first love story that has just began, yet after realising that i’m in love with Rishi it’s hard to stay away from him even for a day. Every passing minute feels like hours, and I keep imagining him everywhere around me. And this desperation of wanting

it's a love story or sure, but the way she is explaining every emotion of the love between Rishi Anu and Anbu is what makes this book unique. while reading it I felt like I'm back to my clg days, so relatable and connecting. but again the curiosity to know the suspense is killing me. update soon.

A Fleeting Moment, an Endless Distance

A Fleeting Moment, an Endless Distance

This was the best ending they could hope for. As for Henry, he left for a rural area and became a volunteer teacher. When he strolled through the remote village paths and looked up at the blue sky above, he would think about Whitney and wonder how she was doing and if she already had children. Henry would always smile as he wondered about her life, but eventually, tears would start streaming down his face.
