When the bully falls in love

When the bully falls in love

I had settled on Hope. Hope is the thing with feathers- That perches in the soul- And sings the tune without words- And never stops at all- And sweetest in the gale is heard And sore must be the storm That could abash the little bird That kept so many warm I have heard it in the chilliest land And on the strangest sea Yet never in extremity It asked a crumb of me I finished the last line and smiled proudly before looking at the teacher was also surprised. The whole class was disappointed, fate and destiny were all disappointed. I had outdone all of them again.

The Elven Princess

The Elven Princess

"I am going to recite it now. I have never really understood the meaning, so you should take an attempt. As I spread my wings to the widening chasm below With the crimson and maroon plumage scattering low, It burst forth, and molten gold opened the jaws wide And swallowed up its home, burning down its side. Looking at the broken shards, that broke, as I fell, It reflected my vessel, red, maroon, and well, it was a patchwork, of broken fragments of skin And feathers, not much, and not looking akin And bold hues, and shallow, I know not what to think I have no home, I did, it went down in a blink. It hurts no less than had I been in there It hurts, where I stand, it kills me over here. I feel

THE PILOT'S EX WIFE

THE PILOT'S EX WIFE

Ethan cleared his throat, and then began to recite the poem: - "Ah, if we have already lost track of time If together we have already thrown everything away Tell me now how I will leave If, when I met you, I started to dream, I made so many mistakes I broke with the world, I burned my ships Tell me where I can still go If we, in the mischief of eternal nights We have already confused our legs so much..." The man paused briefly, taking the time to take a deep breath and study the blue gaze that stared into his face, that infiltrated his soul and fixed the heat on his skin. He knew then that he had chosen the right poem.

Wolves of the legend

Wolves of the legend

I asked curiously as I noticed the tattered hut in the distance. "That is a story for another time child, for now, go back and tell your king "When Silver meets gold, when white meets black" she instructed seriously and frowned trying to understand what she was saying, "What was that supposed to mean?" I asked curiously and she shrugged. "I don't know myself but that was the prophecy, now go your mate is looking for you" She pulled me up and pushed me lightly towards the direction facing away from the hut. I pondered on her words 'When Silver meets gold, when white meets black' as I walked back noticing there was a forest around me. The words sounded familiar yet unfamiliar and I couldn't pl

Of Frost and Fire

Of Frost and Fire

It's been written to death. "No, June is immortal," cried Emily suddenly, a mutinous sparkle replacing the strained look in her eyes. She was not going to let Mr Carpenter have it all his own way. But Mr Carpenter had tossed June aside without reading a line of it. "'I weary of the hungry world'--what do you know of the hungry world?--you in your New Moon seclusion of old trees and old maids--but it is hungry. Ode to Winter--the seasons are a sort of disease all young poets must have, it seems--ha! 'Spring will not forget'--that's a good line--the only good line in it. H'm'm--Wanderings--

Stories by Irene

Maybe one day my talent will get me somewhere better in life. Ah ,grief, I should not treat you like a homeless dog, who comes to the back door for a crust, for a meatless bone , I should trust you. I should coax you into the house and give you, your own corner,a worn mat to lie on, your own water dish . You think I don't know you've been living under my porch. You long for your real place to be readied before winter comes . You need your name, your collar and tag, you need the right to warn off intruders, to consider my house your own and me your person and yourself my own dog . A poem by Denise Levertov.

The Mafia Princess

Nikolai “I missed this place.” Hope said as we entered the property on the aptly named Attitude Adjustment Road. It is immediately clear to even the most discerning connoisseur of life that you have crossed over into a different world. ‘Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both’ I said, absentmindedly reciting Robert Frost’s poem. ‘I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.’

My Forbidden Lover

He sat feeling uncomfortable, he wondered what Sarah was up to. "Ryan, Incase I die, do not weep by my grave." "How...like what do you mean?" He looked at her perplexed. "Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight.

It was an order meant to be fulfilled immediately. The driver nodded. "I can try but I am not sure I am going to easily locate the place. But I can try. There is no harm in trying, right?" "There is absolutely no harm in trying out something new. After all, there came a time when the blind guys thought of spending time with the deaf girls in the evening. A time when the glory that left came back in a simpler form that only a few could understand. Even in the darkness, men still make merry. Even in the light, women still cry. And yet, many do not call that a poem but an epic fall from glory. What do you call it? How do you see it? Do you see it as an epic fall from glory or a poem about a man
