She looks beautiful, but like she is hurting, holding her broken heart in her hand. I begin reading the poem. Life has been hard lately, incident from that night keeps replaying inside my head. Hearing Zen say that ‘I’m just a maid’ has gotten me back to my senses. I was flying high up in the sky all these years, now suddenly it feels like someone ripped off my wings. I fell so hard on the ground that all my dreams, my wishes shattered into million pieces. Never in my life had I thought, out of all the people, Zen will talk to me in this manner. My heart is broken forever now, I don’t know if I will ever be able to collect the broken pieces of my soul.

At this point, all my dreams, all my hopes, all my plans, feel like they’re all crumbling down. I’m utterly, literally, figuratively, fucked.

I heard myself say “Since you’re not going to be accepted by your people, you can be useful.” “It’s not that simple, they would try to kill me and as a dreamer I get the most painful death” “I thought dreamers are immortal” I said “With our powers we are but once they get drained, we are just like any other person on both planes” “I don’t think calling for help is working because I’ve been trying to call for help since but I don’t feel anything” I said with my voice shaking with fear “I really don’t want to spend my whole life here.”

“So, is it always the same dream? Or is it different every time?” I was hoping he had forgotten about my dream and was slightly disappointed that my hope was false. I looked at him and I ran over the question in my mind. “Well, it's the exact same dream. Exactly the same, every time,” I paused for a second. “And the result is always the same. I spend the day off in my own little world thinking about her.”

I couldn't help but wonder if the pain I felt was the price I had to pay for daring to love and to hope. As I sat there, shattered and broken, I couldn't escape the truth that reverberated within my soul. The road ahead was paved with challenges and heartbreak, but I had to find the strength to endure. With each passing moment, the resolve within me grew stronger, fueled by a determination to rise from the ashes of my shattered dreams.

He took a deep breath and continued. "I can't take the weight of your love, I just can't. I'm getting lost on you, I feel like you'll be safe in the hands of another. I'm beyond damaged, I'm broken to the core. There are times I've felt maybe I'm not broken, just bent, but now, now I know I'm broken. Despite knowing broken things still work, I also know there's an expiry date. Broken things work till they don't."

With pen in hand, I lay it bare, The ache, the hurt, the unanswered prayer, Words flow freely, a healing balm, As I capture the storm in silent calm. In each line, a piece of my soul, A story of love that took its toll, Dance of shadows, a play of light, A journey through the endless night. So let me write, let me release, The pain that seeks a sense of peace, For in these words, I find my way,
