Heartaches, it comes and goes. A normal feeling, like someone was stabbing his heart. That striking ache like someone had stabbed so deep into his heart, it breaks in two. The amount of hurt he felt was to the extreme that it has another name for that type of heartache. A Broken Heart.

I simply don't. I have never known failure in my life, yet though, I have had my share of heartache. Heartache makes up that defining moment. And my choice is never to love again. Yes, it sounds like some country and western song; hey, I can even throw my boots on and dance to it. The sad what is, when something comes to an end, then it comes to an end.

My heartbreak feels cold. It's like concrete drying in my chest. Perhaps the worst part is that the heartbreak is unexpected, as is always is; top of the world one minute and cut down the next. I feel like my heart is literally cracking in two, leaving a massive, gaping hole in my chest. Tears stab at my eyes, making my vision go blurry, but Alex does not even notice, his eyes stamped onto his beautiful erasthai. My insides close to splitting open and bursting all over the lawn, while my lungs feel like they’re being sat on by an elephant and my brain is as close to self-combustion as is humanly possible. “I’m not a toy you can pick up and drop anytime you feel like it, Arrick. You hurt me. You chose someone else. You don’t get to come back and try again. You don’t get back in.” I grab for my shoes, scooping to bend without caring if my dress flashes my ass to the bushes, anger bubbling in full fury, heart and soul ripping apart while alcohol let’s all this stupid heartache loose to play like giddy kids in a cornfield.

🥀 CLARA'S POV 🥀 My heart felt like it had been shattered into a million pieces, each one piercing my soul like a shard of glass. The pain was overwhelming, a crushing weight that threatened to consume me. I felt empty, and hollow, like a part of me had been ripped away. Every breath I took felt like a struggle, every beat of my heart a reminder that the person I love would never love me back. My heart was broken, extremely broken, and I didn't know how to put it back together again. All I could do was hold on to the fragments, and hope that someday, somehow, I would find a way to heal.

"Guess what? The tears, sadness, and despair that rotted my heart while I lived as your wife in that cage you called a house have come together to heal me," Her voice dripped with malice. "Nothing will stop you and your family from facing my wrath. I'll wrap and deliver your parcel of pain. The plan was to leave you alone, but it seems that won't be the case. I'll make you pay for the past, regret the present, and torment you for the future." Archie's desperation was palpable. "What can I do?" He asked.

The numbness he'd worn these past few weeks shattered in that moment. "Albert, Grace… I was wrong." Tears streamed down his face. "I loved Lina. I really did. I wish she could come back… I'd trade my life for hers if I could. What use is this Golden Warrior medal to me? All I want is for her to come back to me."
