Lucas shifts the conversation from work to beliefs, the change almost imperceptible, like the glide of silk over skin. "The system fails the vulnerable," he says, and I can't decide if he knows my secrets or just my fears. His voice drops lower, inviting me to share more than I'm ready for. My instinct is to pull back, but the invitation is too tempting. I edge closer instead, careful not to give too much. "Justice is a luxury," I tell him, offering my own view, wondering if it reveals more than I intend. My wolf stirs uneasily, caught between wanting him closer and pushing him away.

My name is Ivy, nice to meet you", she said, hanging her hand out to me. I shook it. " Nice to meet you, Ivy", I told her, smiling. " Good luck today Ember", Jax called to me before his eyes set on Ivy, who just looked at him and blushed. He winked at her and went along his way. Ivy is a real beauty. She was black, with pretty brown locks with purple tips on the ends. It was braided in a crown pinned around her head. Her eyes were a beautiful honey color. She looked really young. Maya nodded, her smile small but warm, the kind of smile that reached her eyes and made them crinkle at the corners. “Of course,” she said. “She consumed most of the poison in your body to keep you alive and well. The poison in your body gets worse with every reaction, but she was brave enough to keep you alive.Your Ivy is brave. Don’t worry. With the right routine, she will wake up.” Her explanation hooked me fast. I leaned forward, ignoring the ache in my ribs, the pull of healing muscles and fading bruises. “You… you mean she was sucking up the poison from my body?”

She knew of only one person in Raven’s Gate who uses poisoned darts as their weapon. “Come out now.” Yuri hissed, sounding rather like an angry snake as she glanced around her surroundings. “I know that you’re here. Come out and face me, rather than hide like the coward that you are!” Her eyes flashed dangerously as she clenched her hands into fists by her sides. “Jessica Kwok!” Yuri caught a movement behind some trees, and she turned sharply only to see Jessica stepping out from behind the trees with a self-confident smirk on her face, three light green darts being held in between the fingers of her right hand.

I also gripped her hands as firmly as I could so that she wouldn't run away. There was only one thought in my head– I must make friends. “Hello, my name is poison…I mean poison Ivy. No, I mean Ivy." I say to her while violently shaking her hands. I didn't need anyone to tell me I fucked up before I knew I fucked up. Why the hell would I call myself poison Ivy? What the hell is fucking wrong with me? And all this time, there's an uncontrollable creepy smile on my face like I'm a murderer in a horror movie with really bad acting.

This stupid virgin wouldn't know what to do with a man like Zeus. "Hey! You can head home, beautiful; I got this," I faked. "Bye!" Ivy smiled while skipping from the bar. "Problem?' Zeus interrogated. I rolled my eyes. Please. He knew why I was bothered. "She's a virgin, you know," I exclaimed. "Who?" he asked. "Ivy," I clarified while angrily wiping down the bartop, "You can't just fuck her." "How old is she? And she's still a virgin? That's rare," he commented.

She is a badass, and she wants nothing more than to sink her claws and teeth into Ashti and Briell. But I have to make sure she keeps being hidden for now. No one here knows of my “tendencies” as my family calls them, no one besides the devils I live with that is. I rise to my full height when I realise it's Ivys’ phone ringing. Passing her, her handbag, she quickly rummages through it and fishes out her phone. She frowns when she looks at her phone as she swipes her finger across the screen and then presses it to her ear. “Hello.” She answers, looking at me through worried eyes. (“......”) “Yes, I'm Ivy Bishop.” (“.......”) “Jade Nitro is my aunt!” Her voice quivers and her hand flies up to cover her mouth as she stifles a sob and shakes her head in disbelief.

Veins are popping on his forehead and his face is red with anger. Jason looked upset and bitter when his father mentioned Ivy. He never let his father find out that he started to like Ivy more than he should. Ivy was just a pawn in their plan against Nikolai. Coco wanted to kill her when he found out that she is a witness to their crime. But Nikolai was hunting for his parents murderers then, so killing Ivy would have garnered more attention than they needed. So he carefully planned to confuse Ivy.

As Eleanor was dragged away, still screaming curses that echoed down the hall, Ivy finally turned her face into Aurora’s shoulder. This time, she cried not in fear but in release. Kemal sat back down slowly, his hands trembling for the first time. Ryan placed a steadying hand on his shoulder without a word. Asher nodded once, respect. The judge addressed the court once more, his tone softer now. “This case stands concluded,” He said. “And let it be known…today, justice listened”. As the gavel struck for the final time, Ivy lifted her head. For the first time in her life, the past no longer owned her. She was free.
