Looks like it’s all you.” Bob got up and his companions at the bar began helping him move some tables and chairs around.

I ignored the whispers, grabbed my number tag, and waited. Noah sat in the front row in a navy blue suit and gold-rimmed glasses. His face was expressionless as always, but his presence boosted my confidence. Groups of three competed, and it was judged live. I was in the last group, up against last year's runner-up. The pressure was real, but the process felt like a rebirth. This was the path I was meant for. I mixed rum and gin, a new flavor for Breeze Lounge. Then I added vodka and mint syrup.

Blade came out with his usual all black clothing—a big black sweatshirt, a black baggy jean, black glasses, black face cap, black sneakers— and a revolver carefully tucked by his side. To my shock, the passenger door opened and a girl came out. She was obviously young, probably fourteen or fifteen with red hair and a round hazel eyes which peered at me through the glass of the coffee shop. I couldn’t help but wonder who she was and why Blade had decided to bring her along. They both shared words before walking towards the coffee shop. “Emily!” Blade called as he walked inside with his companion right behind him. “I’m right here,” I said waving my hands in the air to draw his attention.

Blade said, gesticulating with his hands. Everyone watched him in silence. I also gawked at the monstrous tattoos that covered the overgrown ape's neck. "Rumors have been circulating about a rat in our mafia, Boss," Blade said while looking at me. Why the hell is he staring at me? I slammed my fist hard on the table, causing a loud thud. Two mature males cringed in their chairs. "Then find out who the rat is," I said with a sinister laugh. You are already dead if one of the men is here. Understood?

River 'That bastard beat me.' River sat outside on the back porch of the cabin he was staying in, looking out at the woods, sipping a beer, trying to figure out how in the world Blade managed to beat him. There had to be something to whatever he was doing with his pocket, but River couldn't prove anything, and Beta Andrew claimed he'd examined everything carefully before, during, and after the event, and found nothing. So… all he could do was try to do better in the next event, which would be held the day after next. It was a race, and River knew he was fast. So long as Blade didn't find a way to cheat, he could win. If that was the case, he would at least be tied with Blade for first place
