“Miss, what’s your name? Do you have someone you know here?” It is not good to take advantage of those weak and not in their right mind but the girl seems like she’s in pain. He tried talking to her but it seems she can’t hear him. He had no idea the person was already naked, so he can see what she was wearing on the inside. “Hey! Get a hold of yourself!” he almost shouted, he’s getting affected by her pheromones. His rut— this is dangerous!

"What the fuck do you think will happen if i let you go? What the fuck you are going to do? Go back to that filthy hole Tonko? You think you're gonna be safe there alone? You might get raped or even killed there!" "What the fuck is the difference from this hell hole?" I replied. He paused in disbelief. "Is that how you want me to treat you? Huh? Then i'm gonna give you a fucking monster." He then walked out the room quickly and slammed the door behind him. I sat there on the bed. I don't even feel any sadness but i ended up having tears streaming down my cheeks. Deep inside, i know he won't hurt me but have i maybe created a monster?

This was her daily evening routine that gave her an escape from her harsh cruel life. All her evenings ended with here unhappily gazing at the multiple paintings on almost every granite rock in sight, a painting of a horrified deer pacing about in confusion as a posse of lions encircle it, as if each deciding who would be first to catch the prey. A painting from two weeks ago she interpreted as her being the helpless deer, and the hungry lions being her in-laws, her father. Another one on a smaller rock was a painting of a beautiful sunset with giraffes drinking water along a river, this she interpreted as the blissful moments she felt peace as she loved watching sunsets, the giraffes

Then Tyler says, quietly but with absolute conviction: "She's been conditioned. That's what they do." "She wasn't, it didn't look like conditioning. It looked real." "It always looks real." He pulls a chair around and sits facing me, elbows on his knees. "Leo. That's the whole mechanism. It's not fake happiness they manufacture, it's real happiness they engineer. They create circumstances that make the captive feel genuinely safe, genuinely accepted, genuinely valued, and then that feeling becomes the evidence the captive uses to tell themselves they're not a captive." I want to argue with him. I sit with the impulse and let it pass.

Oliveria wheeled in a trolley, the smell of cookies wafting into the air, and everyone hummed in appreciation of the wonderful aroma. "Freshly baked cookies and orange juice, hope this calms everyone," she said with a smile, setting the tray of cookies and glasses on the large center table. "Thank you, Oliveria," Iris said gratefully. Oliveria smiled before offering Nate some cookies, to which he grinned. "Special wolves, as I said, possess many abilities. Some have the ability to control elements, read people's thoughts, have telepathy, or mind link with more than two persons…”

The sudden pain caused me to arch my back, and darkness clouded my vision, almost sending me into unconsciousness, yet I was powerless to scream. Earlier, Eugene had silenced me with boiling oil, turning my breath into a torment. The pleasure of making me suffer was evident on Eugene's face. He grasped my chin, his eyes bloodshot, his hatred brimming. "Sherlyn, how could you be so despicable as to have Mega bullied to death? Sherlyn, why didn't you die instead of her?" He shouted the last line, roaring like a beast at me. "Megan?" I thought, struggling to recall the face that matched the name.

Marcus was too heavy, and Sophia was trapped beneath him. As she lay there, Sophia felt a mix of emotions: anger, frustration, and...something else. Something she couldn't quite explain. As she looked at Marcus's face, Sophia saw something vulnerable, something human. And for a moment, she felt a pang of compassion for her captor. But as she looked closer, Sophia saw something else: a look of peacefulness, of relaxation. Marcus was finally at peace, finally free from the burdens that weighed him down. For a moment, she forgot about her captivity, forgot about her fears. All she saw was Marcus, vulnerable and human.

This time, the chat window was utterly silent. Vincent dialed her number. "We're sorry, the number you have dialed is not in service..." A sterile, automated voice answered. Vincent froze. Her phone was off? An image of Sophia sleeping flashed in his mind: her curled lashes casting shadows on her cheeks, her red lips slightly parted as she snuggled deeper into his arms. A small smile touched his lips at the thought. He tapped on her profile picture—a proud, aloof Persian cat, its blue eyes looking down on the world. Just like her.

“It can’t hear, but it feels vibrations. Don’t use your power.” Sensing our presence, the creature began to move toward us. It didn’t slither—it rolled forward on its own muscles. Every motion was painfully slow. “What do we do?” Sadira whispered. “We have to get to the pool,” I replied. “To the crystals. I’m sure this creature is guarding the water and the crystals. But the commander’s voice… Something is inside that pool.” The creature lifted its head, and from its vapor a thin, sharp sound escaped. Not a roar—just a warning.

Another piece of garbage removed from the earth. Dimitri turned to his men without looking at the girl again. "Take care of this shit," he commanded. "Get the captives loaded. I want every trace of this operation cleaned up within the hour." Then he grabbed the girl's arm, not roughly, but with absolute certainty, and pulled her away from the chaos. His men rushed to obey, bundling the remaining captives toward the waiting vehicles. Dimitri walked out of the warehouse with the silent girl in tow, and for the first time in his life, he was genuinely curious about another human being.
