"DON'T TOSS ME AWAY NOW! YOU MADE ME LOVE YOU AND YOU PROMISED TO LOVE ME. YOU PROMISED ME, GIO!" Abi hugged the woman to her as she looked at her fiancée. "Don't you get it Gio, she doesn't want to be some man's housewife. She wants to be YOUR housewife. Fiona wants to care for YOUR home, YOUR family. She wants YOUR babies. NOT SOME MAN'S YOUR'S! She wants what society says she can't have. But she can have it. We can all have it." Gio looked at her and shook his head. "I can't marry all of you. While incest among consenting adults may be legal here polygamy isn't."

"Our rule stands, as it has for generations. One Man, One Wife. Absolute commitment. No attachments beyond your husband. The heritage demands purity of line, of heart. You are bound to Ethan. Entertaining shadows risks everything—the land, the legacy." One Man, One Wife. It wasn't legal, not in modern France. Polygamy was banned, monogamy enforced. But in our family? Old customs lingered, a private code from wealthier days when councils guarded fortunes against scandal, against dilution. No divorce without consent. No extramarital ties that could complicate heirs. I'd known it abstractly. But hearing it now, directed at me... "I haven't—" I started. "Light entertainment becomes heavy chains,

Sarah's Perspective. Seven Years Ago, Some women picked the wrong men out of many. I have heard women complain of a whoring husband, but I always counted myself an exception. My husband, can be best described as every woman’s dream. He is handsome looking – well-built, intelligent and smart. Besides, he is a man of his words. Furthermore, he attached so much love and interest to his family because he was out to ensure that he distinguished himself from his father. He grew up with a father who was a polygamist and an irresponsible one, who was also known as a wife beater with many legitimate and illegitimate concubines. Fortunately, none of my husband's siblings took after their father, exce

I was stunned, “she said it was bad but I never imagined this.” “It is pretty awful.” Mary Ann continued her story. “The man who murdered the Major had two brothers and between the three of them they eventually had eight sons, all who joined the family business. Mum has tracked most of them down and passed the information on and there are now just two of the sons left at large and they are running a multi million dollar a year empire based on just about anything criminal, but mostly hard drugs.” “The other members of the family are…” This whole story was starting to worry me.

he commented without any filter and I ended up bursting out laughing. “In our culture there are still men who prefer polygamy. My father was one of them. I had six wives, but my mother was the first, so she is in charge of the others.” "My God! Six women on PMS every month. Your father was a hero” I couldn't stand it and laughed again, feeling my stomach hurt. Said had an innocent sense of humor and I wasn't bothered by his comments, quite the opposite. I showed him pictures of my father's wives and my brothers. When I showed him Rafiq 's photo, he looked disconcerted. I found it strange the way he commented on my brother's physical beauty and thought that maybe he was gay. But I didn't have

Vivian agreed that those behaviours led many men into polygamy. She had wondered if Charles would in future destroy their marriage vow of ‘till death we part’ – and enjoin polygamy. She dislikes marrying a polygamist. She observed that the character of a polygamist is ambiguous and brings grieves. She knew most of her town’s men who were polygamist. She understood how the polygamous families are full of malice, envy and quarrel among one another. She understood how the children of a polygamist live in fears and divided opinions; the bond of love wasn’t experienced among them. In fact, she knew how her father used to rush into a neighbour’s house every night, who was a polygamist to solicit f

’ She fantasized. ‘What about it mum? I can’t wait to hear it, mum.’ ‘You know, I grew up in a family where the children do not have the opportunity to get all the luxuries they wanted. I remember so vividly this experience. I was a little older than you are now. I think I was ten years then, two years older than you are. My father always promised to buy me a swing just like this one but he never did. His inability to buy me a swing was not because he never wanted to but because he had no money that could afford that. He was a polygamous man. It affected him seriously financially because each wife wanted the best for her children just like the other wives would want. It sounded like a compet

He will always be my fate, mate. I may be half-demon and can have multiple spouses, but I'm the type who sticks with one man in my life. It's good that Dad never had any other wives after Mom died. That shows how faithful and committed he is toward their marriage. I've watched shows or films about polygamy, and I hate having more than one wife. A man with two or three wives is exhausting. You have to deal with arguments, favoritism, and jealousy. Tears started to fall again—Dominic bent to kiss each corner of my eyes and rest his head on mine.

Why did it seem that everyone who entered it only came to tear me down further and carve deeper wounds into scars that I was still trying to heal? ***** It’s true what they say about the sad news reported on polygamous homes. I thought bitterly as I stepped into the bar, memories tugging me back to the beginning, back to when my father had married my mother and brought us to live with his family. Vera’s mother had been barren for ten years of their union, and when her husband secretly began a relationship with my mother, his secretary, she got pregnant with me only months later. That pregnancy forced him to make her his second wife. But nothing good came of it. His first wife never forgave h

"Now, things are awkward with Deanna from the Whalen family. Why didn't you settle this matter earlier? There's no point waiting on it." "Didn't we agree to talk about this matter only after Jepherson graduates from school? Despite your interest for Deanna to be with Jepherson, you know the rules of the Richards family, which was to accept polygamy. Rayan is not going to agree with that." Hansen had always wanted to remove this crazy rule of the Richards family because it was allowing men to have fun behind their wives' backs and also putting women in unnecessary pain. Unfortunately, it was a difficult mission. Hansen had brought up the issue many times but Marissa had always disagreed with
