She bumps into the armoire, and I hear the key fall out of the door.

“What are you two doing, you little rascals?” “Tea party!” Renee cheers, hands in the air. “It’s supposed to be bedtime,” AJ’s mock-serious voice says from behind the phone. Payton shakes her head. “No, Daddy, it’s our tea party time! Mommy said so!” “Oh really, and where is she?” AJ questions. I see Renee put her small hand in her mouth and shrug her shoulders. “Hey girls, do anything fun while your uncle’s been busy?” “Yeah, I watched your game! You beat Daddy again!” His eldest says.

Mom made this," I said as Summer moved her things aside, and I placed the tray in front of them. Poppy also paused from what she was doing. As they started snacking on the coleslaw, Summer asked Poppy, "Have you never had the chance to write since you were a child? Didn’t you learn to write anything? Have you never even held a pencil and paper?"

The Midnight and River Packs have been visiting; our packs have become more than united; we’re all one big family. Poppy hasn’t returned; she hasn’t even called. Instead, she sends postcards, real ones, like an old lady. I keep them in a drawer. I don’t show anyone how often I read them. The words are always funny, and vague. But I know she is safe, and she’s settled. Jaxon has started talking to my belly every night before bed. He tells the baby about frogs and wolves and how to be brave and also how to prank Daddy Callen by hiding his socks.

She wasn’t sure she like Fiona anymore. “No. I cannot.” Poppy crossed her arms and pouted. “Has he knotted ye yet?” Fiona ignored her pout and continued. “I have no idea what that is.” Poppy snapped. She looked at the clock. Malcom said she had to spend an hour each day with Fiona. It had been 15 minutes. 45 more to go.

“Deal or not?” Javier tried not to laugh. “Okay, fine. No pinch, no kiss, no kartoshka, no stealing candy.” He held up three fingers like he was being sworn in. “Just for today. Tomorrow, we renegotiate.” “No,” Poppy cut in quickly. “Today and tomorrow. And… until I’m grown.” “How old is ‘grown’?” I asked. Poppy thought hard. “Twenty-three. Like Mommy when… when…” She glanced at me, remembering something she absolutely shouldn’t mention. “When Mommy had a stupid idea.”

Lillian muttered and Mila chuckled. “She has always been that way. Have you gotten a job already?” Mila queried, but Lillian shook her head. “It is frustrating. These past months have been hell. I'm still waiting for feedback from three companies.” Lily stated and Mila nodded. “We can get a spot for you as a stripper before then. Nora earns well,” Mila nudged her. “Don't even dare!” Lillian warned. “What? It is a cool job. All you have to do is learn the rules of the game. Get a stage name like “Lily baby” you actually know your curves are killers, men will go crazy.” Mila spoke in a serious tone.

“We have to be patient. Let me play this from the shadows. If I move too fast, they’ll win.” Her instinct screamed against waiting every hour the rumors spread was another blow to her name but the intensity in his eyes made her pause. “And in the meantime?” she asked. “In the meantime, we make them believe they’re winning,” he said. “Then, when they’re comfortable, we strike.” Later that night, Callie sat alone in her apartment, replaying his words. She wanted to believe in his plan, but the thought of being painted as a fraud for even one more day made her skin crawl.

He sniff kissed both children. "In the cabin Dada, waiting for you to come for lunch". She would call him Dada too like Evan. In fact she was the one who started calling him Dada when she became close to him. And how he loved her. She was his companion when they would go out for a little walk in the park. She was with him to see his belly grow big. After 2 months of complete rest, finally his baby was stable. And he could do his chores.
