I put a one-sided stylish hairpin beside my right ear that tucked my hair behind my ear. I put a light makeup and applied a Matte Lip Whip in Bowl of Cherries. I stared at my reflection in my vanity mirror. I smiled when I got contented with my looks. I went out of my walk-in closet and picked up my phone that was on the nightstand. I put that inside my Pasha handbag. Today is Saturday and tomorrow is my engagement party. On Monday, it's time for me to study again.

That feels so good. She leaned down, her lips closing in on mine. I held a breath and my eyes slid shut. But she didn't kiss me, her lips didn't even touch mine. I opened my eyes again and saw that she had moved ahead, her lips now almost touching the shell of my ear. "The problem with most people, like you, is that they play the game. I prefer playing the player," she whispered and then pulled back, a satisfied smile on her lips and a fiery look in her eyes.

One of the pieces of advice Poppy gave me was to play some music or a podcast through your headphones while feeding, because it can be a long and boring process. But as of now I can't imagine ever feeling bored when she's in my arms. I get to stare at her for so long, notice tiny details about her, fantasize about her life and personality, and that's more interesting for me than any podcast around.

’ Poppy's expectations are growing, as if they have become a reality. BLAM!! When Poppy heard the door open loudly and strike the table next to it, her eyelids opened wide. Her eyes were only half-open, clearly still drowsy, but she turned to look at me right away. “Faith?” Her voice was still hoarse, and it was kind of adorable. “What time is it?” “It’s time to eat, Poppy.” I smiled at her. “Get up. I had food delivered for us.” I pointed to the two large paper bags on the side table. When she saw them, a smile spread across her face.

She wasn’t sure she like Fiona anymore. “No. I cannot.” Poppy crossed her arms and pouted. “Has he knotted ye yet?” Fiona ignored her pout and continued. “I have no idea what that is.” Poppy snapped. She looked at the clock. Malcom said she had to spend an hour each day with Fiona. It had been 15 minutes. 45 more to go.

Theo was explaining goat ownership plans. Poppy was drawing family pictures. Harper rested against Noah. Daisy rested against Roman. For a while nobody spoke. The comfortable kind of silence.
