The Games We Play
After finishing her task, Leah returned to the dining table.
She met Paul, chewing. He was reading the news from his tablet. Paul was still in pajamas in contrast to the kids in their uniforms. Leah placed his hot drink just above his half-eaten plate before returning to her chair.
“Here you go, daddy,” Leah said casually.
“Thanks, mommy,” Paul played along, smiling.
“Hey, how come daddy gets coffee, and we get milk?” Complained Robin.
“Because, sweetheart, mommy and I are already big,” Leah smiled. “We don’t need milk anymore.”
