I found Maya in her room twenty minutes later, sitting on her bed with her laptop open and her face red from crying. "Maya, I'm sorry you saw that," I said from the doorway. "Can we talk?" "I have something to show you," Maya said, her voice shaking as she turned the laptop toward me. "I was going to wait but after seeing you with her I think you need to know now." I moved closer and looked at the screen, seeing emails between Sophia and someone named Richard Corso. "Who's Richard Corso?" I asked. "CEO of Hastings Corp, your biggest competitor," Maya said quietly. "And according to these emails, Sophia's been feeding him information about the gala guest list, our merger plans, everything."

He continues, gesturing to my midsection. Sinclair continues to vent, getting louder and louder with every word. “I hate everything that led us to this place. I hate having to sit by and do nothing, because war takes time. I’m thinking I should have stayed and fought, even if there was no chance of winning. I’m thinking I’m a traitor for abandoning my people.” He pauses, looking so feral I honestly feel a little afraid. “And I’m thinking that if Damon were in front of me now I would rip off his manhood, then rip off his fingers and toes one at a time. And I’d keep going that way until he was just a headless torso, but I’d keep him alive for as long as possible to maximize his suffering.”

Jasper narrows his eyes at me, but decides not to bring up my thoughts. Instead, he says, "I will not stop until this deal is complete." "Do you know anything about Cyprian? Where he may be?" I ask, hating to bring up the name of the man behind the uprising. Cyprian. Young, strong and extremely manipulative. An outsider of the Love Pack born and raised. A rogue now. Chapter 11 – Silas The low hum of voices filled the dining room, but I barely heard them. My mind was elsewhere—still stuck on the girl sitting beside me. Hyacinth Clausen. It felt like a cruel twist of fate. The fiery woman I couldn’t forget, whose defiance had ignited something primal in me, was now... my stepsister? The thought gnawed at me. POV DEFNE The blood drained from my face so quickly that I had to grip the edge of the counter to steady myself. For a second, I genuinely thought I had misunderstood. “Here?” I asked quietly. The head of security nodded once. “He’s demanding to see Miss Sabanci.” Every muscle in my body tightened instantly. I could already imagine Berat downstairs in the pristine lobby of the building, charming enough to fool strangers while slowly becoming more volatile underneath the surface. He would know exactly how far he could push before security physically removed him. He always understood limits when other people were watching.

The chyron screamed across the bottom: CAROLINE SINCLAIR ARRESTED FOR ROLE IN DAUGHTER’S KIDNAPPING. The world tilted beneath me. My grip on Aaron’s hand slipped. No. That couldn’t be real. I blinked, my chest heaving, but the image didn’t change. The Sinclair matriarch—elegant, untouchable, venom wrapped in silk—dragged into the open in iron cuffs. “Is this—” My voice cracked, breaking on the words. “Is this real?”

I continued. “Monica broke the agreement by introducing herself to Poppy. She was supposed to leave after recovering from childbirth,” Sinclair explained. “I need to brush my teeth.” I walked toward the bed as he approached the sink. I had many questions, but I waited for Sinclair to come out of the bathroom to discuss them. I was worried the case would involve Dashiell. People must not know about the egg theft. “Don’t worry. I’ve spoken to Poppy. She won’t say anything about Dashiell and me. That woman is responsible for my mother’s death. She promised to serve her sentence as atonement for her sins.” Sinclair sat beside me.

I waited to hear a third new voice, but after a short time of not hearing anything, I realized what was different about this room. "We ain't stealin' kidneys or nothin'! We're here to help y'all out," Poppy announced, taking her key ring back from Mia's hand without any resistance, "All I need is yer name and Ultimate if ya got one." Poppy had taken the lead in the information briefing, and her newly returned chipper mood was met by the new guy's mood spiking up as well.

Robin Luciano appeared to be facing his biological mother, Sienna Lori, at his first meeting with Poppy. Sienna has wavy black hair, a slim build, and is as tall as Poppy. Poppy's attitude is almost identical to Sienna's, who appears vulnerable and needs protection. In the end, she stabbed her own family from behind. Robin chose Poppy out of sympathy for her situation. On the other hand, his resentment of Sienna, who has vanished, is expressed through Poppy.
