Poseidon It has been a week since Hermes’s birthday party. This party didn’t turn out the way we thought. A few of us always party a little more than others. However, this time, we could not remember anything after Athena and Apollo brought out the massive cake. Considering it takes a lot of alcohol to get any of us drunk and the fact that none of us can recall anything, I have a feeling that someone drugged out drinks. “None of us have any marks signaling that someone took samples of us.” Hades says.

The power rolling off him is potent, and I fight the urge to bow to him. “You know who I am, boy?” he asks, and I gulp and shake my head. “No, sir, I don’t,” he chuckles, and Gaia watches us. “You have his and her eyes. No matter, you have come here for something, so let me introduce myself to you,” he says and I think, my eyes they are similar to Asteria’s and Poseidon’s. “My name is Kronos. I am the father of Poseidon, Hades, and Zeus.”

Due to the fact that they had treated each other with complete indifference ever since they were children, the atmosphere between them started to become a little bit strange. Poseidon had always held the belief that Thanatos was to blame for the growing rift that developed between him and Hades, his older brother whom he had been particularly close to back in the orphanage. Poseidon has been left out of the picture more often than not ever since Hades has had Thanatos by his side. This is typically the reason why they have disagreements with one another. As a result of arguments like these, Poseidon ultimately made the decision to move away from the mansion and live elsewhere.

His looks seemed like he was planning something disgraceful. “Hades,” Poseidon uttered, his tone threatening. Hades looked at him with a piercing glare and then let out a sinister laugh. “Poseidon, Poseidon, Poseidon... how is your son on earth?” Hades said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. “Don’t you dare touch my son, Hades!” Poseidon was aggrieved at the mention of his son. He doesn’t know how Hades learns about his son. He sensed Zeus’ stare and he let out a sigh.

I answered truthfully. "Then come with me, my Aphrodite. Join me in immortality. Become one with me and let us rule this world together. With you by my side, we can continue to live in luxury and we can go against the kings of kings. With you by my side, we will become invincible. With you by my side, people will whisper our names and they will fear even the very ground that we step on. With you by my side, my Aphrodite, we will be...untouchable."

I sighed, rubbing a hand over my face. He cocked his head, looking at me strangely. “What?” I asked. “Why did you say it like that? You put Poseidon above Zeus. No one does that. Zeus is the King of the Gods. He is placed above all.” he explained. “I exist because of Poseidon. He is the one that gifted the bull who would sire me to Minos. He is the one that cursed my mother with lust for the bull after Minos angered him. So it is the God of the Sea who set into motion my creation.” I explained.

FACT VS FICTION INDEX This is more a Myth VS Fiction index for those who don't believe in Greek Mythology - none of this, as far as I'm aware, is known to be a sure fact - these are simply what my research told me and what I used to build the story. FACT: Pluto, Plouton, Hades, and Lucifer are all different names used for the ruler of the underworld. FACT: Zeus is said to have dozens of offspring with both Goddesses and mortal consorts.
