The Revenge of One Humiliated
They run off, their laughter fading into the darkness, leaving me there, leaning against the wall, trembling all over.
Silence falls, heavier, more threatening than their voices.
I slowly slide down the wall, my legs no longer having strength. The stone is icy against my back. I bring my hands to my face. They are empty.
They took everything.
Everything.
The money. My few clothes. The photo of the little girl I was. The book. I have nothing left. Nothing but the clothes I wear, now soiled by struggle and fear.
